Not only cringe, but also notoriously accessing almost entire permission from personal information to device control, wtf, what a POS degeneration tool for youthful demographic.

If tiktok has been provably giving users private information to the CCP then the solution is firstly to keep hitting tiktok with fines, then if that doesn't work ban them and them alone.
But governments have a habit of using things like this to expand their power and control over people. The "Patriot Act" being a good example. Or the covid restrictions which violated people's Rights to freedom of assembly, freedom of association, medical privacy and bodily integrity

I really want Tik Tok to defend their app by stating some variation of "people are allowed to be stupid and post stupid content" and get their app reinstated
Edit : I only hate Tik Tok because it was the trigger for literally every app to make their variation of a 5 second content piece. I just hate the 5 second medium.

While I am happy about the TikTok Ban, I'm scared of the RESTRICT Act, because think about it.
This act doesn't only apply to tiktok, it applies to ANY app outside the west. If they could and/or want to, if you're making an app/game and you're outside the US, chances are, your app/game might get banned, and these chances increase if you live specifically in Eastasia or Eurasia.
