AnonD-1132315, 18 Nov 2023Hello Sam N8 808 owner, I have Poco F5. I tried to record a video in the Google camera LMC 8.4... moreThanks for the response.
Well, what I did was, I tried 4K in Redmi Note 4, a snapdragon 625 phone from 2015-16, I used open camera and it worked.
Later on, after Redmi Note 6 Pro, all phones I tried failed terribly at this, no app would work. Hence, the confusion.

I tried to record a video in the Google camera LMC 8.4 program with config, in the settings I set it to 4K 60fpc. The shooting took place in a room with not very good lighting; I looked at the information from the video on my phone in VLC player. I made a couple of attempts and ended up with a 4K 57fpc result. The phone can shoot video in 4k 60fpc, but this functionality is limited in the standard camera application.
"The lack of 4K @ 60fps and any 8K mode is more noticeable."
Agreed GSMArena, but I find it suspicious that even by using aftermarket apps we don't get 4K60.
Can anyone clear my suspicion why Mi would do this, or who's doing it anyways?

blue, 21 May 2023Nobody is going back to obsolete and power hungry LCD.If you choose good LCD, it could even beat some of AMOLED screen. It's not obsolete.

Pretty sure such large card don't exist way back in 2013 when the note 3 was release.

My 400gb sd card still serves me well. I have no fear of downloading stuff as well as using the max capability of my camera (4k videos, 48mp pics) without worrying over data costs or storage limit.
Anonymous, 23 May 2023I agree that minimum we need around 256GB memory on phone now.
128GB is just not enough.

I still have the 400gb sandisk one that I am using since the Note 3.

What I don't get it is the "absolute" need for microSD card, as I think the current system of android make the use microSD card were "not easy" or perhaps "inconvenient". Regular Joe will have a hard time using it.
Anonymous, 22 May 2023I owned 256GB SD-card on my old Poco F1.

from what I gather people like to basically download the internet onto their phone lol.
I hear on forums people like to store 1tb of movies/music on thier phone. Makes no sense to me. Its like they are worried they're going to be stuck on desert island with no reception.
Although personally I find 128gb is not enough these days either. 256gb is minimum for mid spec phone. Around 60gb reserved for apps. 60gb for photos. 60gb for music/movies. Rest spare.
I have bought F5 Pro a week ago and I can tell you I am delighted, the screen and the performance are outstanding.
No heat issues at all.
I truly enjoy the 67W charging but whoever is concerned on that you can use a slower charger.
The cameras are fine, the main camera shoots proper pictures, nice colors and night pictures,as well as the wide one, the 2Mp macro is pointless though.
Videos are crisp and OIS means a lot.
Generally I am very satisfied with Poco, I upgraded from a 2yr old F3 which didn't have any problems ever.
My BF has a 4.5 yrs old F1, and he doesn't even want to change it as it still works perfectly.
We are both heavy users as phone is our work tool with at least 6-7 hours screen time a day.
Just don't like Xiaomi/Poco MiUI software...
Would rather go for an Oppo Reno 8 Pro which has crashed in price to £350 in recent weeks.
Might not be quite as fast but still has an excellent near flagship Dimensity 8100+ processor.
Plus ColorOS software is so much nicer to use and similar(ish) to stock Android.
Anonymous, 23 May 2023Should have sacrificed SoC to make rest of phone better. Then it would just be another generic midranger on the market. The entire point of Poco is flagship level performance at half the price!

Samsusguy69, 22 May 2023I'd rather poco f5 for batteryHaha my F5 SoT is 6H... No to good at all
aReefer, 22 May 2023I'm rocking a Poco F3 currently, after using an F1 for longer than I should have probably... more60% faster gpu, also is a lot more efficient, the only problem would be the low 25.6 gbps bandwidth, yet to see where that matters.
panjgoori, 22 May 2023The downside of Poco phones is their update cycle. They suck at providing updates to their dev... more???
Poco have a good software update
