Anonymous, 20 Apr 2023Samsung > Qualcomm Qualcomm is just too small and irrelevant to be compared with Samsung... moreBro you changed the discussion from a product to the whole company. Of course samsung as the company is better than qualcomm. They are working in so many product categories (phones, camera sensors, displays, tvs etc). But when it comes to mobile chips, qualcomm makes better products than samsung

Sure, if samsung were to stop using snapdragon it would hurt qualcomm's business, but they would definitely continue to run

AnonD-1044551, 19 Apr 2023You're the one who normally comments on redmi and poco phones lol. Imagine the ironyIn case you are blind I comment more on high end phones than I do on midrange ones. I don't know what you think you are trying to prove since I use a mi 9t pro as my daily driver, on the other hand you comment on meme gaming phones so i cannot take you seriously because you think mobile gaming is actually better than pc gaming

The question is whether it outperforms Snapdragon or not.

I have used Samsung's Exynos chip for various flagship and mid range model. For sure they are not that good as Snapdragon, BUT this is how one day they will create better chips.

They can not just give up of development, creating a fine product takes time, Snapdragon and MediaTek might have reached there but Samsung is not that far I believe

Exynos consistently underperforms in all areas compared to competitors, performance, power drain, battery management, heat. They should scrap that division or make it only for their local market as it's a net negative for global consumers. Instead of spending billions to make your own chip, just make an arrangement to build snapdragon at Samsung's fabs for use in their phones. It will be on a worse node than TSMC but be a much better design overall than Exynos on the same process.

The processing node needs fixing the exynos 2200 gpu can barely hold max clock speed of 1.3ghz for more than a few seconds but uses good 15w peak alone. Throttles very fast uses around 5-6w @500mhz And was originally planned to be 1.9ghz . Needs open gl support but vulkan runs well.

How they doubling compute unit count without issues would be interesting
