Really ?! The poll involved tech enthusiasts....... who make up a tiny proportion of the population. Trying to extrapolate this result to reflect on the man on the street is faulty reasoning.

There are still a lot of mobile apps that aren't optimized for large screens, be it a foldable or a tablet or even through Android Desktop Mode. It's a similar story for screen splitting, particularly with social media and e-commerce apps. That draws me to dual display solutions as they have two different screens and can interact independently. In the case of LG's Dual Screen case, it can be detachable, thus adding more practicality value.

And wow you are really taking the failure of only 1 phone to say Sony is dying? According to their filings they are making profit oh and I am pretty sure I saw the Xperia Pro used in big film studios yk as a field monitor.

vertical foldables lead the market, not horizontal ones. poll results do not reflect reality. horizontal foldables need a bag to carry. they are same as carrying 2 phones all day. however, vertical foldables can give the best of both worlds. a big screen when you need and a pocketable device to carry all day.

Anonymous, 19 Mar 2023Horizontal and vertica fold are useless. The find n2 landscape fold is the one that makes sense.l It has the same issue as the rest of the foldables but even more pronounced, I.e. a useless (inner) aspect ratio.

What's the point of the extra real estate if most apps can hardly use it. Just to say that you have a bigger screen? Your content would still be small af.

Foldable more generally have to find a way to solve this.

This is only with a sample population of around 3000. Realistically if you sample from a much larger population that isn't interested in tech I'm sure the results will be much different than this.

Sony innovates and doesn't just remove features because they want to. Variable telephoto lens. 4k screen, 4k 120 fps on all lenses I bet your iphone lost pace right?

I wouldn’t trust polls over here, there’s a bias toward one clan more than the other. I only trust sales number.

If you only want a simple point-and-shoot experience without all the fuss of manual control and only care about having a great software algorithm, that's the one to go. I don't shoot in Auto, so Sony is my preferred choice.

And by the way, "I wouldn't think anyone would use a smartphone as professional video camera, or a photography camera"? You really never see how big the smartphone photography and videography circles are. Some no longer own DSLR or Mirrorless cameras and only use smartphones to shoot, and that's before you even see the influx of smartphone rigs and attachable camera lenses, especially for the Apple iPhone.

They are what they are, and the fact that they are high performance professional tier phones is a product of their features, not your opinion.

Japanese users now are loyal to iPhones instead, even more than Americans do (iPhones alone had once hit 60% of Japan's entire cellphone market share). It's indeed other international professionals and enthusiasts with particular need (or love) in professional manual modes in a smartphone who love Sony phones. Yes enthusiasts do count, we have to admit, and Sony's market share is low, which is also a fact, but Sony's presence is still very important to the market.

You don't have to open your phone. That is the point of the front screen and the Z is the only book foldable with a slimmer front panel. The rest are all normal size. If you feel the front panel on the Z4 is too slim for your needs, that is your preference. It has nothing to do with anyone else. Everyone says Samsung is not listening to their customers, but no one has the actual stats on how many people prefer the slimmer design vs. a wider screen.

Regardless, your preference begins and ends with you.

But if you are considering that xperia also a professional tools which used by pros to do a professional work, then you are completely delusional. If xperia can't make a good images with auto settings, then forget it.
