They will surely be inspired by their hometown needs and the constant mockup of iOS perhaps ? We'll see but they need to announce a larger software support, nobody will pay 1000+ for a 2 year software update from an 'ancient' brand that could be perfom well in the future tough. They need money to do so.

Meizu use to be different from other brands and lately only makes flagships.
But with this Meizu is Samsung as you can color your phone what ever color you like but it does not look anything different then a S23
Ok the flash in one camera slot or around the camera lens but still it looks like samsung

So no, i wouldn't call Apple creative with their designs but i wouldn't say it's necessarily a bad thing
You don't need to come up with a new design every year, just use whatever works for a while but you need to realize eventually your design will get stale and it will be time for a change, Apple realized this which is why they're gonna change the design with the upcoming iPhone 15
But anyway meanwhile the Chinese brands shamelessly copy Apple (looking at you Xiaomi). I think they're doing this so that poor people can buy their mid range phones that look like an iPhone
