And of course they have a clear benefit when it comes to software release and updates, as they both make it and profit from it 24/7 even on 10 year old devices, as well as from android devices made by other manufacturers in Google's case.

I work in the... moreI've had iPhone for 4+ years and always updated the moment ANY update came out and never had any noteworthy problems. With MIUI, I never had a case when I didn't have problems. And it's not even big problems. The issue is, when you have tons of small problems, it's far worse than single big one. Single big one is just one thing. When tons of things are broken, it gets really annoying because everything just doesn't work as it should. Which is annoying because I generally like MIUI, visually and functionally, but constant small problems on literally everything really got on my nerves. iOS on iPhone, even with Apple's silly limitations, it was a real joy to use. I'm currently on Samsung, so we'll see how OneUI works. Last time I had Samsung, it was Galaxy S2 some 12 years ago...

Apple are constantly releasing OS updates with major flaws and bugs. I work in the industry so I know. I have to listen to people complaining about it. Software rollback is very difficult to do for the average person that isn't tech savvy. Usually it takes about 3-6 months before an os update on ios is 100% stable. Samsung have a similar record. I personally think that MIUI has less bugs but it's fully optimised version isn't as good as that of Samsung or apple but they take way too long to sort their stuff out
