Shiny Dave, 23 Feb 2023Yet another reminder to get the A52s while you can if you're searching for a midranger an... moreI reluctantly bought an A52s after accidentally killing my beloved Poco X3 NFC by going swimming with it in my pocket. I got it for the ip67 and sd778g chip and honestly this phone has really grown on me and I think it's actually Samsung's Poco X3 NFC/Pro. I say this because the 2 following models for these phones are imo downgrades with higher price tags. I can't stand companies that take a genuinely good product then start removing the very things that made it good and desirable in the first place. Poco butchered the X4 Pro and X5 by putting in inferior chipsets and even the X5 Pro even though it has a decent chip now is still the same one as Samsung used 2 years ago on the A52S and they also removed expandable memory. The A53/4 both use inferior chipsets and have removed headphone jack and expandable memory. Having said all that most other phones recently seem to be downgrades on previous models so will happily stick with the A52S for the foreseeable future.
Anonymous, 23 Feb 2023Their "sh*try" chipset DESTROYS everything else in the Google Pixel 6A category Destroys battery better than competition
in the end this chip can't even beat sd 778 let alone beat sd 7 gen 2..
ashrobb, 24 Feb 2023In GPU it can't match even older flagships, but is not too far from the GPU on the 778G, ... moreThe GPU should be better than snapdragon considering the GPU performance of dimensity 1080. The CPU will definitely be better than the snapdragon.

Another exynos chip with the previous 1280 doesn't feature HDR10+/DV on Nétflí×. Plus the performance is simply weaker than Snapdragon 690/Dimensity 1080. It was battery efficient, but prone to thermal throttling.
Not good👎
Lovelandmark, 24 Feb 2023Shame it got paired with a lackluster GPU cluster though. In GPU it can't match even older flagships, but is not too far from the GPU on the 778G, for which this is a direct competitor. Still a midrange chip after all. But I would get it before the unfortunately common SD695 all day long.
nickname, 24 Feb 2023Barely. It will also use more power and have worse GPU than Mediatek. Both will be smoked by D... moreIt should be obvious due to Exynos 1380 having twice as many P-cores, plus a theoretically more efficient CPU so it can run at that same speed for longer; but if in some way, somehow MediaTek D7200 wins in multi core CPU perf, honestly I have no words on it
Anonymous, 23 Feb 2023A715 is worse most of the time, see https://youtu.be/c1j5p4iNvRM (note that A78 is TSMC 5nm... moreA715 might be less efficient than A78, but I do think the difference in the foundry used to make them will make up for it (in other words, E1380's A78 built on Samsung 5nm EUV will be just as (in)efficient as D7200's A715 on TSMC 4nm)
P C M, 23 Feb 2023Exynos will have better multicore performance than Dimensity 7200Barely. It will also use more power and have worse GPU than Mediatek. Both will be smoked by Dimensity 8200 which will land in similarly (to A54) priced devices.
ashrobb, 23 Feb 20234 x A78 cores is actually pretty good. Some older flagship chips like the SD855 are still good... moreShame it got paired with a lackluster GPU cluster though.
AnonD-1082209, 23 Feb 2023Exynos in the high-end segment are excellent.Sure, Exynos is so good that Samsung didnt even bother to launch a replacement for the 2200. Some Samsung f*nb*ys are just too delusional.
Yoedi16, 23 Feb 2023Kinda weak, slower than dimensity 1080 and definitely will have bad thermal as usual with thos... moreWe'll see to it when it debuted officially with the A54. I believe that's the time we are able to compare 1380 and 1080 fairly.

Indeed Exynos is falling behind now compare to Snapdragon and MediaTek, but I didn't notice any major flaw when I try out my father's S21+ with Exynos 2100. I would like to see more competition in the SoC market rather than it being dominated by Snapdragon only. Keep it up Exynos.
Without a doubt SD782g is better.
Maybe even 778g is better.
Anonymous, 23 Feb 2023Google needs to ditch exynos, not even samsung wants anymore on phones above $550 Exynos used to be better than Snapdragons. Then Qualcomm pretty much stopped evolving (basically the same/ similar soc capabilities for years) and instead of Samsung making the next logical step and overtaking , they used that time to s@ck even more than Qualcomm.
Incredible work Sammy! You outdid Qualcomm, the Intel of the mobile world, in extre Ely slow evolutions. Impressive stuff!
Lovelandmark, 23 Feb 2023Samsung's 5nm EUV. I guess this will offer the same kind of efficiency as ... TSMC N7? I ... moreSD7 G2 never came out lol
4 x A78 cores is actually pretty good. Some older flagship chips like the SD855 are still good because they use 4 big cores rather than 2x6 like most midrange chipsets.
