Crawlgsx, 06 Feb 2023I'd be fine with no selfie cam at all and having no bezels AND no screen abominations. that would be great as well. under display cam is NOT the way to go. they will never be on par with regular cams.
just remove front cam, put a small display on the back, and us rear cameras for selfies as some oems have already done. easy, and that would also result in better quality selfies

notch, punch hole, dynamic island... just hideous screen aberrations. and I don't want under display cam. just give me small bezels, I'm perfectly fine with them
unfortunately i will have to live with punch hole.. because apparently s23 flat is the only phone that has all i want in a phone. punch hole aside... if it makes it through a full day on a single charge without efforts, with normal usage (no videogames or such) I'll get it
eagerly waiting for the full review
blue, 05 Feb 2023Xperia is anything but compact. Sony should finally learn to make a proper design.i love sony design with bezels and no horrible holes in the screen or useless curves. problems in 5 iv were others for me. btw yes, i prefer standard screen ratio (little wider, but shorter). but i could live with that, if they made it with 8+ gen1 for example...sad
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2023you should wait for Xperia 5 Vi had many sony and still love their phones. had big hopes for 5 iv, but with that horribile cpu... no thanks (not sony fault)
plus i prefer point and shot for camera, and their camera sw is too complicated and according to reviews low light performance is struggling.. what a pity
Small battery ...A big NO.

People buy flagship not only for the chipset, but also software features, hardware features, higher build quality, more advance camera lenses. Even flagship from 2019 has something more to offer than newest midrange phone.
For example, people who bought Galaxy S10 in 2019 still get more software feature ( Pro Video, etc.), better phone material (glass+ metal frame) , better lenses (telephoto), compared to the latest midrange Galaxy A53 or even Galaxy A54 in 2023.
