As an apple guy this actually annoys me because now all of a sudden the ridiculousness of having inflated battery replacement costs without user replaceable factor becomes real unfair. It’s a battery for gods sake!
LifesGood, 06 Jan 2023Yeah, it's doing something...making things more expensive. So basically you're saying you want companies to keep denying people's rights to repair their own phones, you want to stick to old technology and yet you don't think it's necessary that phone batteries should be made removable again?
Because that's pretty much what you're saying with that argument of yours.
NeonHD, 06 Jan 2023You pay for anything and everything you use, so I don't see your point there. Likewise it... moreYeah, it's doing something...making things more expensive.
Narazumono, 04 Jan 202320 years or rather 10 years ago most phones had the built quality of a cheap toy with garbage ... moreIs that so? The built quality of Nokia C7/701 easily matches or exceeds that of most recent phones. I'm sure that a good number of HTC and Motorola Droids of less than a decade ago were built sturdier than most currently available phones, all while having replaceable batteries. You seem to know nothing, really. Get a better argument.
LifesGood, 05 Jan 2023Sure, but you'll pay for it. And most people won't change their own batteries and do... moreYou pay for anything and everything you use, so I don't see your point there. Likewise it is way too early to draw any conclusions, so your conjecture is quite pointless.
Perhaps just appreciate the simple fact that the EU is actually trying to do something, yeah?
Enjoy iFans.
NeonHD, 05 Jan 2023I mean, I'm just happy that they made DIY repair and removable batteries a mandate.Sure, but you'll pay for it. And most people won't change their own batteries and do DIY repair. So there is no winners here, it's all just an illusion. And next year they will be forced to usb-c and me and a lot of other people will have to buy USB-A to USB-C, because I have an old 5W charger and powerbanks, so what net positive is there here? I'd say negative in short term. In long term probably none. Soon all iphones will probably be portless and samsung will make fun of it and then do the same a year later, giving us more new waste aka pointless charge contraptions that waste more energy, shorten lifespan of batteries...
LifesGood, 05 Jan 2023The EU is a joke. Regulating and fining apple (and other tech companies) and patting themselve... moreI mean, I'm just happy that they made DIY repair and removable batteries a mandate.
If Apple cared about the environment , they would make an iphone with a user removable battery that could easily be replaced, instead of basically embedding them in the phone, making users replace the whole thing and increase the waste, or pay as much as a new iphone to replace the old battery.
NeonHD, 04 Jan 2023Didn't the EU just enforce a law for companies to start offering removable batteries by 2... moreThe EU is a joke. Regulating and fining apple (and other tech companies) and patting themselves on the back, meanwhile this loss in revenue/extra cost will simply be handed put on the backs of consumers. It really is a joke to me that someone thinks that mandating USB-C will be better for enviroment and save money to consumers. This is what you are paying now with this 20€ price hike...not the inflation or some other bs.
Anonym, 04 Jan 2023Strange how so crazy often iphones needs battery replacement where android phones lasts 4 years .. No, both wear out the same, you see more battery replacement probably due to more iphone being used for longer duration.

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2023Yes plastic back is so bad that even a non charging phone is better i.e. purchase iPhone use i... moreThat is just your own personal opinion
Oh of course they will
Anonymous, 04 Jan 2023Do you really think a plastic back is such a bad thing that you would rather have a non-remova... moreYes plastic back is so bad that even a non charging phone is better i.e. purchase iPhone use it and once the battery drops to 0 throw it away and get a new one.
Or even better : purchase a new iPhone unbox it and then.. oh wait during 5his period it has become older now, soooo get a new one.
(NOTE : The above is the current state of poor iPhone user's)
