The S22 and plus are BARELY of an upgrade over the S21. Besides the camera, everything else is the same and still a DOWNGRADE from the S20
Samsung realized they made the S20 and plus too good so everyone was buying them and nobody was buying the ultra so that's why they downgraded the basic and plus variants so people will look at the compromises and buy the ultra
The S23 and plus are the same. Still 1080p res, still 256 gb storage and still 8 gb ram

I was waiting for this year's FE

It's just Apple had built such a reputation with tablets that people just choose them over Android tablets in general.
The loss isn't even that 'gigantic' either. And not like the whole line-up uses IPS or something.
theres a reason galaxy tablets have such gigantic losses. theyre too expensive. Tab S8 with no AMOLED releasing for 750$ !!!

Even if not considering the peak brightness, the S22 Ultra's panel is still one of the best in the markets, and there are really just rarely any phones with better ones.
The Tab S8 Series was not a losser at all. GSM Arena did not even review the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra at all. It's a better tablet than the iPad Pro, but you just compare the sales to Apple and then say it's a losser, instead of rather reviewing the Tab S8 Ultra...
RealLifePhones, 23 Dec 2022Agree on everything execpt the S22(+) cameras are a lot better than the ones on the S21(+):
M... more64MP of 20/21 has no crop. Just digital zoom.
Crop does not keep resolution, even if you apply 3x to that camera you still get 64MP photos.
"There’s hardly a better display out there".
Just those used by all phones announced for more than $900 in 2022.
But to gsmarena, peak brightness that user can never achieve is meaning of quality.
Then gsmarena should award Sharp phones, since peak brightness is over 2000 nits and contrast is 4x higher than any panel samsung makes for cellphones.
And better calibrated than galaxy , btw ...
232Hz pwm, what a joke.
Agree on everything execpt the S22(+) cameras are a lot better than the ones on the S21(+):
Main sensor got upgraded and the telephoto isn't a crop anymore but rather offers real optical zoom with nice natural bokeh. I agree that AF on the ultrawide would've been great though.
TheElec reported that Samsung is switching away from the cost reduction strategy from TM Roh back to the all-rounder powerhouse strategy so high hopes for the coming years.
