Changing the SoC and internal storage won't make much of a difference. The best you can get is about 25% lower price tag.

The 3's display failed and was covered by manufacturer warranty with no issues and worked great. The fold 4 has been flawless, the screen is far more superior and the hinge is of great quality. It's the beat phone I have ever owned. I'll be a fold user for years to come.

No enthusiast wants a half baked phone that is suppose to be a game changer
Yes Samsung should make an A Fold and A flip series and make it cheaper but the z fold and flip should still stand

I had a bad experience with glaxy fold 3 . Its diplay stoped working just after 5 months of usage . Another 4 months have passed samsung has not been able to resolve my problem . These high end phones ar put in market withoit proper R&D . That is why these companies release new models just after 6 months . Actual R&D is beiing done by customers .

Hardware from 2 or 3 years ago is just fine to put in a foldable today and make it cheaper.
malista, 29 Nov 2022Is it also Fold winning among consumer segments? I don't think so... It never will be due to the sheer complexity of foldable phones in the first place. The only you can make it cheap is to give lower grade hardware.
YUKI93, 29 Nov 2022"Corporate clients see the benefit of signing documents with Z Fold4's S Pen support... moreWhat a sheer coincidence to see this comment as I got a Tab S8 with S Pen for my office work. I am enjoying the whole thing so far. My department leader did cast some vote several times about which device to get for SME use, and none of us vote for the Z Fold4. We much prefer to use tablets for digital document signing.
It's 740,000 not 740 thousand. No one writes like that.
Need to see the actual breakdown on what enterprises that actually bought these. If they were Korean chaebols, then it's useless info as it's basically Samsung making deals with their own friends.
Enterprise IT wise, iOS is actually preferred due to easier management. I have seen many companies and retailers using iPhones/iPod Touches/iPads for their pos devices.
malista, 29 Nov 2022Is it also Fold winning among consumer segments? I don't think so... I can attest to that as a former Samsung Galaxy Fold owner. I sold it in favor of the LG V50 with its detachable Dual Screen case and never looked back. If anything, I'm now eyeing the LG V60 as my next phone in the collection despite not being a fan of the V60's Dual Screen case implementation.
Anonymous, 29 Nov 2022Who are all these people buying fragile foldablesThey have a lot of money and buying this phone is the only way to spend the money.
Anonymous, 29 Nov 2022Including the fe? As a Samsung fan I say that it's useless piece of plasticI can understand that. But if your only intention is to get the cheapest brand-new Samsung phone with flagship SoC and DeX support, the FE is the one.
Anonymous, 29 Nov 2022Where does this quote come from? It's on the main page as a subheading. It's not embedded in the article.
My Fold 3 is over a year old and works just as brand new. Not fragile, my real complaint is the weight and heft of it. It's a solid piece of a device to carry around in casual shorts and tshirt.
"Enterprise customers" aka the executives & board of directors who change their phones every year courtesy of their company. Meaning they dont worry if their foldable's screen inevitably crack
Well, a larger screen is certainly a pushing factor for enterprise customers, but I would add that "being seen as a professional" is another factor to it.
