techois, 22 Nov 2022I think samsung's camera might be more balanced with 3x and 10x zoom.. to be honest the o... moreI mean each to their own, but I very rarely use the 10X on my s22 ultra, the ultrawide lacks resolution, the main sensor is not bad at all, but a 1" type is far superior to the current sensors, so te image quality can only improve, and given how Google implemented its version of digital zoom to compete with samsung, I understand that Vivo has done the same, so for me, personally, this is a more balanced device based on how I use my existing devices, but if you prefer the 10X setup, then I would agree with you that initially the S22 is a better a setup

From what I know phones can do 4K, 8K which should be a lot sharper than FHD. Also cannot imagine it be true with less bright optics(if its zoom lens), but maybe their processing sensor is better in FHD mode...
Anyway I don't shoot video much, but if its about concert, audio quality would be more important for me,...

By the way, i do have a one inch sensor compact camera, the tz200, i use it mainly for the 15x optical zoom, but the aperture is low so not the best for night shots

It has been in use ever since. The sensors I talked about are relatively new. They could have used the Sony (1/1.12") for the UW. That is a reasonably large sensor and will outperform the 598 in every scenario. The one from Samsung supports upto 110° of undistorted FoV. It is also not a conventional RGB one, rather it is of RGBW variety which has better shadow detail. Having a sensor made for ultrawide cameras on the front side can help is get wider photos and thus more content in photos.

Vivo can't seem to get rid of their ugly, boring and primitive Funtouch OS. This kills the experience of their flagships which are otherwise great hardware. My sis uses iPhone 12 and a iqoo 7 legend. She is just frustrated at how generic, buggy and unappealing the UI of iqoo is when compared to the iOS is.

Rob, 22 Nov 2022X90 pro+ have ultrasonic fingerprint scanner (insted of 3D face unlock)I know that it has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that too the Qualcomm Sonic Max Gen3. What I'm asking for is a secure dual biometric set-up that the Honor Magic 4 Pro has. It has the 2nd Gen Qualcomm ultrasonic sensor as well as a 8x8 ToF sensor, a flood illuminator and an IR dot prjector for the 3D face unlock. Pill shaped cut-out are bearable if you provide good reason for that and place it towards the corner so that it disappears into the blindspot. I'm 100 percent sold on Vivo from their last flagship camera efforts. This phone is the closest phone to dream specs that I can think of in the modern smartphone space. Can't wait to see the camera results tomorrow.

Even modern Samsung had i... moreThe reason few phones have it is because a physical aperture mechanism takes up space and requires a letter camera module, if it's a choice between a larger sensor, or one with aperture control, manufacturers will choose the larger sensor as it's more marketable and has less noise, but in real world use cases such as a group photo, or if you autofocusing isn't it to scratch or focusses on the wrong object, the lack of aperture control is a big problem.
I believe Samsung implemented it because of poor lens sharpness wide open.
The lack of aperture control is worse on a 1 inch type sensor because of the shallower depth of field
