Vango, 11 Oct 2022This seems surprisingly useful for me as I study Maths at college and do a lot of rough work. ... moreI think it won't be as useful as practising on notebooks. Try a cheaper one first and you will understand.

It won't work with a capacitive touch screen. Those passive stylus (without battery) you find on Amazon for android phones/tabs are metallic ones which can transmit the electric signals of our fingers to the screen mimicking an actual finger. Hence they are pressure insensitive. Then there's active styluses with an built-in battery that serves a whole different purpose. Like the one's with Samsung notes, Apple pencil, or the ones with Huawei and Xiaomi pads.

I got excited about this product then after checking the details, all my excitement died. 😅
It's like using Paper and Pen, but worst. I can't save and refer to the notes later on.
I wish they made an affordable device to save and transfer notes to mobile.

Vango, 11 Oct 2022I think you got confused with the Redmi Pad pricing up top actually You're right. Redmile Pad and Redmi Writing Pad sound very similar.
Anyways, this thing isn't worth still Rs500. Especially since there are many such writing leds that cost much lesser.

Akashraj, 11 Oct 2022So is there no way to save or transfer notes that have been taken? You can scan it with your phone app :-D
But that's about that, no internal memory, no ways of exporting, just one blank sheet of paper that is erased by the press of the button.

This thing isn't worth $157. It's probably worth ₹157. There are many such writing LED slates, that do exactly this. Without any saving and transferring options, this doesn't bring anything extra to the table.

Does anyone know if the stylus will work with normal android tablets (like the capacitive stylus) because the other styluses available on Amazon are heavier and not very good.

This seems surprisingly useful for me as I study Maths at college and do a lot of rough work. I've probably used up 300-400 INR worth notebooks just in the past couple of months. For 600 INR that seems pretty good.

If somebody has bought the cheaper Amazon devices here in India, are they generally good enough?

My kids love these devices as they doodle all the time on paper, tablet, phone or this "tablet".
I have some kind of 11" version with coloured background, it's fairly nice and above else - durable.

We already have such devices in Amazon worth Rs. 200 (~3$)

Price is well okey but it is not anymore than a regular write book you just buy for 50 cent or 1 euros.
It works with button battery, which means it has no internal memory to save notes or drawings which makes it less reliable than pen and paper.

So, it is just a 7 euro toy, may be nice to have one but no reason to keep one.

A good Device If you just want to take quick notes about something. I think there should be some kind of pro version where you can put in an SD Card and save the notes onto it.
