Finally an alternative to garish cameras intruding on screens. But the emphasis on thinness tells me a headphone jack is out of the question, so the selection of phones that hit all my personal checkmarks shall remain minuscule...

I like 90mm wide phones. The previous ZTE phones showed promise, being larger than average. It's sad to see them go the other way.

I hope this tech eventually works. However, say what you will but Sony Xperia's are the ONLY phones that do the front correctly. No notches, no holes, and properly placed front facing stereo speakers. There was a time when all phones had a functional top and bottom bezel. I do not hardly ever use the selfie camera so the quality is irrelevant to me.

At least a pop up camera doesn't have to compromise on image quality to achieve a genuinely full screen phone.

Also it looks futuristic to have a full screen, equal bezels all over

And as i said, i'm not sure if it's possible to do. Maybe there's just obsticles which can't be crossed, but like i said time will tell.
Currently they are over 12 years behind in quality while regular front cams gets better and better every year.

I used pop up camera phones from 2019 till this year, before I eventually changed phone cause the dust sitting on the pop up module despite me rarely using it is an inconvenience to clean...

Not interesting if it takes blurred and low res selfie pictures. I will stick to conventional, punch hole cameras like the S22
