Looking at the competition, I'd say the S21 FE is the one I'd choose. It still has DeX support, and that is more than good enough for me.

Old samsung note 4's are about £30-£50 from ebay UK,and even at 7 years old, they can still do plenty of things that top end mid rangers and even some top spec phones can't .
Why does everyone go on and on about updates ,keep away from iffy sites, and dodgy downloads and you won't pick up security threats ,all updates usually are is more bloat on top of what Google already put into android ,i was a pre andriod tester ,before even the first publicly available test version,in those days, the entire rom was less than 100mb,un-zipped,now,roms are approaching 10GB !!!
What the hell is that all for,cos phones still do precisely the same as they did then ,they don't have any new amazing abilities ,hardware has got better/faster/more efficient, but that doesn't take GB's to drive it,so what is all that code really doing ?
Based on it's price it's pretty much top end of the midranger while there are better options over it on cheaper price or just add a bit for it and get already a flagship
The Android Freak, 29 Aug 2022Whatever you mentioned is gimmick mostly. What i mentioned are some of the things that add cost .
Why do you think most mid range phones even expensive ones like Honor 70 dont have for example wireless charging?
Why do you think most mid range phones or even flagships from some companies dont have ip68 water resistance?

No. I'd rather go and buy an older HIGH-END flagship from Samsung (new or second hand) and still outperform any new mid-range phone in almost every department: processing power, ram, storage, camera and maybe even software updates (but frankly I don't care that much about the updates).
Peace! 🌈👽💋🖖

Quality-wise, Honor 70 has no Gorilla Glass protection and IP rating. Software-wise, looking at the Honor 50 still on Android 11, safe to say Honor is far from matching Samsung in software support.

Why doesn't ever mid range phone have Snapdragon 870 at least or better
Lower price or better performance as simple as that
Looks like lots of others think that at £480,its well over priced for whst you get.
And if your on a smallish budget, why buy new,cos certainly in the uk,but in most other places too,it's far better to buy used phones from ebay etc,for £480,if i look in a few minutes,9pm on Sunday evening ,I will be able to find lots of 2021-2022 top spec phones, plenty with sd 8 series chips etc,I've bought second/third hand phones since 2000,for £500,my mrs,my daughter and I have bought 6 phones, including 2 x poco x 3 pros,256 gb/2 decent Huaweis, and 3 various samsung notes..
This is the same chip in overhyped Nothing phone and as i wrote before it is not good for gaming in 2022 for me.(except causal gamers with normal setting)
And it is way overpriced like Nothing phone
Zuzuz, 28 Aug 2022What can't do this chip? What app can't handle? Just name a few!2.4ghz maximum clock speed on the processor when the top end snapdragon 8 series are clocked at over 3ghz. If you want to game on top AAA titles on the highest settings and maintain high fps, it won't be able to cope.
Can get a Poco F3 with a snapdragon 870 for 300 euros. This looks pretty good but it's just way too much money. It's around 150 euros more than anyone would reasonably pay that is knowledgeable about smartphone tech. The camera is very good but it has no optical stabilisation and for a phone with a midrange chipset, I think they could have put a bit more into the camera department.
This phone is pretty perfect as a phone. It's just too expensive. I expected 400 euros, not 500.
