What's the point of reviewing, phones are not released in Europe, 12S does not even support many European bands. Very strange for Xiaomi to partner with European camera manufacturer and not bring the phone available.
Assnonymous, 14 Jul 2022Xiaomi 12 Ultra Bugs vs. 11 Ultra Bugs...You know because???
My Mi 11 ultra eu stable rom is totally stable.
My S22 Ultra snapdragon version is even not that stable.
But hey you have both the Mi 11 ultra and 12 ultra, right?? 🤭🤭😂😂

I can't say for current Gcam against latest MIUI, but last i tried Gcam few months ago, it still doesn't utilize all the cameras from a Note 10.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2022Whatever the case is, default processing of manufacturers of today doesn't allow one to m... moreThis is omitting the fact that everyone have different preference of the degree of processing. Manufacture processing is not to make the best of the sensor, but rather the best looking (based on majority surveys etc) on a mobile devices and social media platform. There is no way you use a traditional dSLR/mirrorless RAW camera approach when it comes to mobile photography because its simply ain't meant to, which is why you seldom see RAW format on a mobile phone (or well hidden in the menu).
Most people simply use social app built-in editor to tweak without even zooming in before sharing their photos, hardly you would see anybody using photoshop/lightroom on a mobile phone.

I am so confused by the softness on the edges of both smartphones (the back photo of each phone). Doesn't even look like fringing from lenses it is so un-even. If Xiaomi is applying fake blur I'd be beyond disappointed cause I'm raising money since a long time to get one.
When image quality set HIGH,the out put jpeg size is around 4MB which is too small for a high quality photo. We do need a ULTRA HIGH setting.
Very good
It looks like the Leica vibrant mode really ruins the potential, authentic mode seems way better.
Also they should do away with this old 12 megapixels figure and instead use at 16 or even 18 megapixels at least, even though that means a reduction in pixel size. With a 64mp sensor of same size, binned pixel size would be around 2.8 as opposed to 3.2 microns . That's already way more than enough for smartphones because much of the work here is done by computational photography/image stacking assisted by very fast processor which isn't available in DSLRs. This means dynamic range, noise and low light is taken care of computationally.
But on the other hand, you get more fine details and colour information, two areas where smartphones are lagging behind DSLRs. Only downside may be increased file size due to higher resolution, but just add a microSD slot.
This is why the 27mp isocell HMX is very special when GCam is utilized. Find a used mi note 10/pro and try out.
Also remember that the two greats, 808 and 1020 had very high resolution RGB pixels which allowed them to do oversampling and continuous lossess zooming without moving parts which isn't achieved by any smartphone except 950/xl by a very small degree.
