I don't know how to tell you this, but it already exists it's called A14, M1 is totally based on A14
Anonymous, 06 Jul 2022just wait until you guys see iphone 13 rebranded as iphone 14🤣It's so normalized with Android phones, the rebranding and rehashing, that you find it funny mocking Apple. I on the other hand find it highly ironic...

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2022even the ipad mini almost cant support the M1, M2 is out of the question No wonder the first ... moreM1 is 118.91 mm sq and A15 is 107.68 mm sq. How is that 40%?

Never whatever cheap c... moreCheap cables won't work with fast chargers and thus every android user has learned to not to buy cheapest cable, but one which works with charger. And fast charge had been present on Android over a decade, raising a whole new generation, aware of not all cables are the same. Also , high quality cable from trusted brand had never been expensive on Android. Might not be a $1 dollar tier in your local retail , but not too far from it either.

crispcketlicker, 06 Jul 2022I'm not an iPhone user but how - by today standards - can you say that iOS is an limited ... moreONE example that directly answers your question of what's in an android that's not in iOS is individual app locking (via PIN, fingerprint, etc.).
Case in point: when my 6 year old niece comes to my place, I give her my iPad to spend some time on that has one of the mobile games which she plays. It also has a LOT of other private stuff since I use it for work related purposes as well. Now I can't just lock the apps and files containing the private data, since Apple in it's arrogance likes to spew, "A phone of iPad is a PERSONAL device, ergo buy your niece a new separate device of her own when she comes to visit, also another one for your sister to use and another one for your mom, (so many profits for me) huehehuehue."
Nor can I locally lock dev apps and sensitive files, unless I jump hoops to store it on cloud servers or something far less secure which in itself is a poor option where local secure storage ideals are completely decimated and some files/apps cannot effectively use the cloud storage route.
That's one example. I can name others, but start with this on how Apple cripples its own devices with nanny state, walled garden, anti consumer OS that makes any amount of cutting edge hardware internals worthless.
Anonymous, 06 Jul 2022Sorry but this is a dumb analogy. As if the propriety ports of the iphone stopped their users ... moreBecause Android users only buy official cables or from top brand names. Never whatever cheap cables that fit in their port for as little money as possible? LOL? Besides, what's wrong with that? You buy USB-C cable or you buy Lightning. You still buy a cable. Besides, everyone yapping about "ecology" and how USB-C is sustainable and eco friendly. But they changed most of the chargers to have USB-C output instead of USB-A, meaning all the USB-A to USB-C cables that I have are entirely worthless now, the exact same way any Lightning cable will be next year or in 2 years or whatever the EU cables law will go into effect. Ultimately they didn't save planet of anything, most people will still have to buy new cables and/or chargers anyways.
Iphone 14 better be 599-699 with a A15 then.

Anonymous, 06 Jul 2022Most powerful CPU? Maybe. But that power is useless for limited iOS.I'm not an iPhone user but how - by today standards - can you say that iOS is an limited OS? Of course that you can tweak your system more on Android but I believe that iOS it's pretty capable. Every iPhone user I know it's pretty happy to the point of never changing to another OS again. So what Android does that iOS don't?
Anonymous, 06 Jul 2022Most powerful CPU? Maybe. But that power is useless for limited iOS.Very true. Same is with iPad, it is also limited by software.
"The power is useless of you can't use it"
iPhone's and iPad's have already reached their limitation few years back.
And then the iPhone 14 vanilla fails so hard that Apple decides to put it as a "low tier" version and only focus on the "Pro" one as the True iPhone iteration.
Anonymous, 06 Jul 2022Most powerful CPU? Maybe. But that power is useless for limited iOS.Why, because on iOS you can't install 3rd party launchers or emulate N64 games....oh no!!!😱
Grey Wolf, 06 Jul 2022That's because they running out of ideas to differentiate the vanilla versions from the P... more🤦♂️.....Trust the people on this site to go to the laziest and most simple reasoning for anything relating to Apple. Yes Apple would like customers to pay more for their products, they share that desire with...oh only every other consumer product manufacturer on the planet.
There is a supply issue in this equation though, we know global supply chains have been effected by all the shenanigans of the past couple years, and iPhones do tend to sell in exceptionally high numbers. This coupled with the fact that the A15 will continue to be a capable SoC (to say the least) for the next several years and I can see the reasoning for this decision, if it even turns out to be true.
So yeah whilst I am not suggesting this will be a pleasant thing to hear from a consumer point of view, I can understand the business aspects behind it. And lets not forget Apple are a business, with a board of directors representing the interests of shareholders. Apple are not around to put a smile on the face of GSMArena commenters, for whom they can never put a foot right anyway.

As for the 'environmental care" issue , Type C will make things better because you can use your current charger/cable for all your gadgets, so you don't need many of them 🫤
