Pc is superior but just expensive, and steam deck and nintendo can't be used to for other tasks which you can perform on phones, if anyone get a good phone and don't have money to spend on pc , he might as well explore mobile games.
And yea raytracing on phones is a joke. No dlss = no rt.
Vegetaholic, 03 Jul 2022That was back in the days when handheld games where as good as console games. Now its pay to w... moreI guess you have no idea how fast the mobile game world is moving , with games like ghenshin impact and apex legends .
Also you might have potato device so thats on you.
Desktop is hella expensive, so good luck spending 1k dollars on pc to be able to say mobile games suck.
Vegetaholic, 03 Jul 2022That was back in the days when handheld games where as good as console games. Now its pay to w... moreSo the mobile game ignorance stereotype works like this:
1) assuming only the play store as a source of games
2) not having a media outlet/source to inform you on games in an updated manner
3) assuming what mobile games have to offer is simply by looking around the office or see popular gacha and FPS games and then assume that's the entire mobile gaming landscape
If you don't have a healthy ecosystem on mobile gaming to inform you on their development that's your fault

Now its pay to win infestation or mobiles games litteraly so simple its not worth to waste 10 minutes on them, mobile games absolutely sucks on smarpthones. Then you have Switch and Steam Deck, thats different beasts, at least you can play some console level games on them, problem with switch is not powerful enough and Steam Deck is just barely available, but we getting there slowly. Deck is grabbing peoples attention so sounds like many companies will move to making handheld gaming PC's, so new era can start to make handheld gaming great again.
Anonymous, 29 Jun 2022since arm using vulkan yes its capable dlss and rtxLol, its capable of shit. Snapdragon does not support any RT hardware wise, the only chipset on the planet in mobile world which supports hardware RT is Exynos 2200 with RDNA gpu 😀

Let me tell you, I dip below 40 FPS in games like Cyberpunk, if everything is on ultra and without DLSS. I can barely, if at all, notice ray tracing in games. MAYBE there's a difference in Metro enhanced edition.
It's impossible to notice anything on small 6 inch displays, let alone ray tracing.
No phone can push Genshin without overheating, for more than 5 minutes. You want ray tracing? hahahahahaha

First of all you don't have a big screen to enjoy them, you don't have an interesting story, you don't have the visuals and the controls are just crap, even more they just cover half of the already small screen.

Pascal's wager
Life is strange

But I understand like many others you only play games from the play store and dont have a reliable new feed source to inform you on titles
And you probably on play global games.. so I wouldn't expect you to be aware of mobile game capabilities
Essentially you have made up your mind and seek to confirm your bias
Anonymous, 29 Jun 2022They are just bad, ok. Soulless cash grabs that have money first, art and gameplay last. Not because you don't do your research
Means you must project your limited experience as the truth
You saying cash grabs says it all let me guess
You only know gacha games, your heavily influenced by on FPS games, you don't have a YouTube ecosystem subscription to keep you updated on new game releases etc
You probably are that guy that only play games on the play store and assume that the whole gaming world is a tiny bubble you experience..

Using DLSS ... moreLike you've said, it's very hard to see a difference between fake and real ray tracing, whereas I definitely can and do see DLSS being used, even on quality settings. I'm very sensitive to sharpness, so I'll never use DLSS for the sake of ray tracing.
Nevertheless, I think DLSS is very useful when the gpu gets old and you want to push it for another year or two.

That’s like putting a Vespa engine ... moreI've played all my games maxed out using ray tracing on my RTX 3080 at 1440p. Using DLSS of course, because why wouldn't you, given you can't really see visual degradation, but performance jumps significantly. I always use DLSS in highest quality mode which is basically zero visual compromise with free performance.
I agree on the part where ray tracing makes no sense on mobile devices. It's very compute intensive task for low power chips and battery power and makes even less sense considering you can't really appreciate the ray tracing details on such tiny displays. Most people can't tell a difference between fake screen space reflections and ray tracied reflections on PC's, I really don't expect them to see on mobile phones. It just may be easier for devs because ray traced reflections just work where screen space ones need to be faked by the developer.
Anonymous, 29 Jun 2022They are just bad, ok. Soulless cash grabs that have money first, art and gameplay last.Amin to that. Didn't find any mobile game which didn't bored me after 30 minutes. And that includes games in Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass.
I even had Xbox xcloud at some point, because I thought I can bring console games on my 6.5" display. Ohh, what a sweet summer child I was.
Did you guys ever played something like "Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice" on a 6.5" display (with controller by the way)? Trust me, is a very bad experience.
So yeah, no thanks, I will game on big displays and actual games with nice gameplays.
Mobile games are good for 15 minutes sessions, if you are really bored and don't have anything better to do. Lol.
hoping the graphics wont produce flashing. like shaders cant even load properly in mali gpus.

TheAlienNextDoor, 29 Jun 2022Ray tracing on mobile chips HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA That’s like putting a Vespa engine ... more100% correct! I see this as financing the r&d for VR headsets in 5 years from now. GPU in the system plus processing done by the headset so that each eye can get 100% detail at 4k 144hz etc., but playing todays games not 2027 titles. Sadly, even that's optimistic, so VR isn't for me. Vic 20 to 3080 ti not going backwards for VR.
