Sd 855 struggles with a lot of ps2 games, like ratchet and clank, nfsmw, sly cooper, gow.

My P40 pro can run 3ds games at full speed, even X3 speed with no issue at 90hz and with shaders installed too. My old Huawei mate 10 pro could decently run the same emulators, hitting more than 30fps and no slow downs. Dunno where you got your info from (also ps2 has multiple good emulators on play store or via APK download so again if it really is a problem with that 1 emulator, then just use another.
Also You don't need a gen8 + snapdragon SoC, that is just overkill for emulation, a snapdragon 855 would still be more than enough.

Googles been going downhill violently since the 3. Pixel 4 was a mess, 4a was great, pixel 5 was forgettable and had flagship price with a mid range spec list, pixel 5a was ameica only, pixel 6 was hideous and has the worst SoC on the market right now. The 6a will simply be a pixel 6 with a crap screen and the already bad Tensor chip being underclocked.

Pixel 4 was the last good Pixel that Google ever made. I personally think it's the 3 because I prefer fingerprint security on the back.
You're going to have problems running emulators using Mali especially AetherSX2. Stick to Snapdragon flagships made by TSMC like the Snap8+ Gen 1.

Looks like Google really wants people to know what's powering the Pixel 6a and remember it every time they open the smartphone's box" well considering it's the worst modern SoC on the market that's full of software bugs and overheats for no reason (oh yeah because it uses the X1 core even when idle) I would say that's the worst decision a company can make, they shouldn't be proud of the tensor chip, its a flop.
Also those specs are beyond awful, if this phone releases for maybe £250 it's worth it? Google should of left the phone market on the failure pixel 4, should be their last chance with the 7.

The 6a is still pretty large and heavy.
My favorite size for a Pixel is still my 3. I deleted a lot of videos and it runs faster if storage capacity is less than 70%-75% filled. I turned it into a Dreamcast & PSP emulation device. Perfect since it's a slab and the emulators are in landscape.
Snapdragon 845 only seems to run up to Dreamcast & PSP as it struggles for GameCube and PS2. Only ny Flip 3 can play GameCube and PS2 smoothly. Like Tekken 4 would get slow after one round. Most of my games can be played with touchscreen controls like Chu Chu Rocket!!, Bust-A-Move 4, Crisis Core, and other JRPGs.
If you have a phone that's starting to feel slower, keep 25% of the storage cleared. Delete apps you rarely use as they may run in the background without you knowing. Android is a resource hog. My Razr 5G ran like crap at 81% filled until I got it to only 69%. Now it's much smoother. My Flip 3 is noticeably smoother going from 82% filled to 68%.
