I mean Camon 17 the first one to completely upgrade to Android 12 and I m using it since. I pretty satisfied with it

Goku412, 30 May 2022Why doesn't gsmarena talk about software/android support, security patches and future OS ... moreNot only is the software support for Infinix and Tecno phones almost non-existent, there is also risk of malware pre-installed in these 2 brands' phones. They were caught red handed a few years ago.

PapaTwin, 30 May 2022You don't know there is dimensity 800U?dimensity 800u 4g? and even if they gave it they have to increse the price as dimensity 800U 's isp is one of a kind and its still considered the coolest 5g soc which isnt underpowered to 1080 30

Why doesn't gsmarena talk about software/android support, security patches and future OS updates?

                    I imagine, it's because they don't exist.

infinix makes cool handsets, but I won't pay $200-300 for a handset that may never get a higher version of Android, which came in the box.

even boring HMD phones get better software support. I was Nokia User 1, my work/backup phone. it took ugly pictures, the screen was not good resolution (I didn't care, it was only for receiving calls/WhatsApp) but it came with android 8.1 out of the box, I updated to 9 go and then to Android 10 go, 3 years of security patches.

If this were the promise of infinix, more users are interested in their phones.

Anonymous, 29 May 2022The 800U isn't low midrange. Unless you think that the Snapdragon 750G is low midrange? Yeah alright maybe, but what I kinda meant was that its below the mid-midrange (so I said it was on the lower end of midrange). While technically still a brilliant chip (800U) for most casual users just like the 750G, OEMs have sadly moved past such chips now. We already saw the excellent D800U being replaced by the kinda inferior D700 in most phones last year.
We have more powerful chips like the SD765/768/778/780/860/7G1 & D900/920/1000+/1100/1200/1300 that fill the mid- & high-midrange, with some of them going into the low-flagship territory like the D1200/1300 & SD860/7G1.
