Samsung do care for its top flagships but their low end series are worse than xiaomi.
Motorola low end series last aproximetely 3 years but if you buy quality one for 400+ it can last very long time.

because i care for my phones.
Quality leather book case and a panzer glass screen protector is a must have for me.

A thin foil on screen which starts tearing on its own after several days of weeks of use. When that happens your phone is permanently died???
That tiny battery inside with a no charger in the box and hefty overpriced price along with the fines bloatware, malware, adaware, spyware given by samsung for free???
Is that the quality you mean???
No thanks. if i ever will be forced to foldables Razr will be my only choice.
And if i have to pick another phone instead of razr i would make my own foldable device.

And i definitely will not feel better with IP68 which is just a costly gimmick not worth the price.
As i said any phone can withstand few raindrops. Evenm the loweest of the low like Xiaomi 9A or Samsung A03 etc.

Nd the case scenario u explained of the zfold 3 in a bus cannot damage the display that easily nd when u know ur display is delicate u treat it with care

No phone ever made was made for sea water.
And as i said before any case for just 2 will do and prefornm far better than expensive gimmick called IP rating. Buying a case is a cheaper way than buying a phone with IP rating and any device can withstand few rain drops regardless of the brand and used materials.
And lastly yes you can close Z fold 3 and screen is protected from harm but in case you iopen it and someone accidentaly huumps into you or bus accidentaly stops to prevent a crash and it can fall and breaks.
Any other phone should survive some damage or will be left with just few scratches and bruises in case of Z fold 3 any damage to the main screen means permanent damage and a big repair costs.

U see manufacturer these days put water resistance preventive measures on most of their smartphones in general but they only leave ip rating for their expensive phones because ip rating is a set of test a smartphone has to go through for it to be rated nd it's an expensive process
So yes ur mi 11 might be in some way water resistance but it wasn't tested only by u which is risky,nd its not every phone that can survive entering a bath tub u are lucky that Xiaomi still put water preventive measures even though it didn't go for IP testing
Nd like I said the folding screen of the zfold 3 is safe cause its not always open u close it and no problem its free from danger
