Pump and dump makes no sense.

If he's buying the whole enchilada, he can't short it and make money from the stock going down.

Even for someone as wealthy as he is, flushing an multi-billion dollar investment doesn't make sense. Especially if he was gathering money to finance it.

And lastly, the acquisition isn't all his money, though he is spearheading it. He used private equity financiers to fund a nice chunk of it, and I doubt they're going to want to be losing money on the deal. They have skin in the game and also have investors themselves. They're taking it private so they can run it how they want rather then having large shareholders dictate direction.

Anonymous, 14 May 2022He bought it because he wanted to change its current sorry state of lefty only environment. So fragile.

Twitter literally backed out of implementing auto-moderating anti-hate features since well known Republicans couldn't be distinguished from (other) racists.

But please cry more about how Twitter favors the "left", after all you wouldn't be right winger if not spewing a constant stream of bullshit.

Since Musk asked for the bot numbers people like Obama lost over 300,000 followers in a matter of days and people who had been banned started getting their accounts reinstated. Some people gained over 100,000 followers to in just a matter of days. As Twitter was banning people, and not showing true followers numbers, shadow banning and creating fake accounts, to make some people look more popular and keep user numbers up, they where lying to stock holders and Elon Musk, spreading lies and misinformation to control the narrative. Most people aren't that dumb.

The problem is Wallstreet and the corrupt SEC. There's bigger problems in the stock market.

The American bots and troll accounts must not be removed, and a person like Elon Musk could never be allowed to own Twitter and suddenly ruin all the efforts gone into controlling the narratives.

This could crush Twitter, stock fraud is a serious crime, and this is on a huge scale. We could see Jack Dorsey in prison along with the Twitter lawyers and other employees. It's fraud in the billions of dollars. It could be that Elon Musk knew about this before he even bought the company. Facebook/ Meta is another company that should be investigated, I'm pretty sure they are fudging the numbers to charge more for ads and keep the stock price up. It's common practice for companies to break the law, as the fine they will pay is lower than the money they have made by breaking the law in the first place.
