507AMS, 08 May 2022nop, the LG G5 was the starting road to his end!!!!! The V series were not really a problem... moreThat would imply the V30 was no better than the G5.
Anonymous, 08 May 2022LG V30 was one of the best phones ever made. I assume it can still be used without problems today.I'm replying to your comment with my LG V30 right now and it still works flawlessly since the day I purchased it, which was at launch. The same goes for my wife's V30. Probably the best Android phone ever made.
joe nodden, 08 May 2022This garbage was the beginning of the end. nop, the LG G5 was the starting road to his end!!!!!
The V series were not really a problem in terms of tech involved. The problem with LG was poor marketing (the not so well received "small target consumers marketing" products) and poor software updates support....
I loved every LG phone I owned (G3, G5, V20) but those product never got the audience's full attention......
And now we have a saturated market with Chinese phones with useless cameras and way too much models.
Anonymous, 08 May 2022Nokia 6, 7 Plus and few more are made in a collaboration with Foxcon, latter and recent phones... moreYes, many HMD phones are ODM.
7+ was made by FIH.
All assembled at Foxconn.
I still kept my V40, V30, V20, G6 and G8s ... All those phones still functioning and usable .. and the problem with V40 is battery life and probably that notch when it predecessor V30 have a great design.
The last 3-5 years have seen a slight saturation of smartphone camera quality, mostly due to extremely minor improvements in hardware, and even more minor tweaks to the Computational Photography Algorithms.
While Snapdragon, Mediatek and Exynos have allowed for upto 18-bit RAW, on their latest ISPs and CPUs, this wouldn't really help without some radical improvements in sensor technology, not just upressing and up-bitressing of imaging via HDR. They should have created 14-bit smartphone image sensors with improvements in the Quad Pixel/ Tetracell CFA. And even faster readout, and even more frame to work with.
Biggest problem here in the UK? You couldn't actually buy LG phones unless you imported? I wanted the last V-series with the dual screen case, and I'd have taken a look at the one with the second flip up screen (forget the name) but you just couldn't get them from an operator like O2 over here
Better than any xiaomi ever made.
Anonymous, 08 May 2022No the company became a laughing stock around the start of 2019. Because during 2017 and 2018,... moreNokia 6, 7 Plus and few more are made in a collaboration with Foxcon, latter and recent phones are just made from unknown Chinese companies, only Nokia brand.

Yext, 08 May 2022But why? What was wrong with them?I bought both a G5 and much later a V50.
The G5 was a bit dodgy, I had the GPS glitch and the exchangeable modules, while clever in theory, made it feel fragile.
The V50 was different, so solid it felt indestructible, it was so well made. It also had better reception than any of the other first gen 5G phones and felt better in hand too. The only flaw was the bad OLED smearing on black, it was very obvious.
A good phone though that deserves to sell well.
LG’s Android fork gets a lot of abuse but it was essentially a straight copy visually of Samsung’s oddly popular UI with far less bloat. It wasn’t the best but it was nowhere as bad as it was made out to be. Updates were a problem but most normal people wouldn’t care. The sound quality through wired headphones was unrivalled.
LG have people what they said they wanted, flat hi-res display, expandable storage and a headphone jack but nobody bought their phones - I blame awful marketing.

There is too much choice and too much of the same at exactly the same time. Example being BBK. The group has released the same phone through each brand with little to no change - they barely even Look different.
I'd rather renew the battery in my Galaxy S10 than buy any of the current market offerings because it does exactly what I need and it does it well.
Yext, 08 May 2022But why? What was wrong with them?LG traditionally falls well behind when it comes to availability and marketing. Also, many consumers have the mindset that buying Samsung or Apple is safer in the long term (updates, reliability and all that).
Anonymous, 08 May 2022Entire company is a joke after hmd stepped inNo the company became a laughing stock around the start of 2019. Because during 2017 and 2018, they launched some really amazing phones. Phones like the early 5, 6, 7 and 8 series were actually really nice.

Whackcar, 08 May 2022The Nokia 9 was a joke, nothing more than that.If you've never tried it, don't say it's bad. It's camera app is slow, but that's all, it takes really good pictures, the display is flagship quality and still brighter than most phones and yes I have tried it, I have it in my collection.
