Today is time for xperia 1 V release, will there be also 5 or 10 V release, we will see...
They should announce Xperia Play 2 with PS3/PS4 gaming capabilities but never gonna happen it seems...
Well done for changing to squre edges style iphone and even better with fine touch on the sharp edges , I would like to see it on the 5 iv aswell , makes the feeling like the phone soldered into your palm . big plus the higher resulutions camers were needed adding up , the biggest let down with the 1 and 5 were too low brightness , Sony realy failed behind all other brands , we need the brightness above 1200 nits but with low battery drainage hopfully the latest engine will do it .
JansherKhan25, 29 Apr 2022My only gripe with Sony phones is that stupid 21:9 aspect ratio. It only works for a selected ... moreI know this sounds unpleasant to you but considering Sony has been in the multimedia industry for quite a long time and knows the details from their experience behind the scenes of multimedia supports (TV, cinemas, cameras, Blu-Ray, etc.), this should be expected. This is including common aspect ratios in the multimedia industry. Those aspects are: 3:2, 4:3, 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, and 21:9.
With the extinction of 16:9 & 4:3 aspects in smartphones due to bezel-less design moving forward in 2018 & circa 2012 respectively, Sony's only option is to embrace 21:9 as it's the only other common AR, but with a year transition to 18:9 in 2018 and they didn't do it full-hearted on 18:9, only doing it for a few devices. A year later, 21:9 was commenced and they embraced it full-hearted, coincidence with Xperia restructural in 2019, as one user said, they even have the "CinemaWide" term to solidify even further. So, it's no longer possible to revert to the old aspect for Sony Xperia, unless you wanted an Xperia Ace II that still uses 18:9 but is only offered in Japan.
Anonymossy, 28 Apr 2022I mean, technically you have their budget Xperia L series too, although the most recent phone ... moreTrue about that. And since the last Xperia L series was 2 years ago (Xperia L4) and probably morphed into the Xperia Ace series (probably, but who knows?), seen based on Xperia Ace II specs that are nearer to L series specs than 10 series specs and exclusive for Japan, globally, Xperia lineup globally is pure OLED, which's something else considering Sony was the last major brand move to OLED in 2018, while other companies that embraced OLED earlier than Sony still have a portion of IPS LCD-type smartphones in their offerings (not a bad thing here, just wondering how everything changed a lot).
Please release sony mobile phones in indian market. At that there is required placement because samsung is the only one who can control on indian market. I know how to break the chain.

Just like Facebook fast and normal Facebook. The paid Facebook for £5 , is way much better with so many features.

cireyaj15, 29 Apr 2022Can you move some apps to SD card as well?
I'm using XA1 and planning to buy 5 II. In X... moreJust buy a smartphone with the SD card slot available, buy a GOOD SD card (SanDisk Extreme PRO - black and red are the best) from a reliable source (many shops are selling fakes) and only use the internal memory of the phone for installing apps. Everything else like photos, videos, music, documents etc should be moved on to the SD card.
With root you can even install the whole Android OS on the SD card and boot it like that, but it will be lagging and you wouldn't accomplish anything other than impressing your friends. If you get the SD card out, the phone won't work without it and it will go into a bootloop.
PS Stay away from custom ROMs. You have no clue who posted them, for what purpose and how they've altered the OS. Some might actually be maleware or worse. Stick to the original ROM and just debloat it.

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2022does android 11 restrict to access data on microsd? like you know storage device?Yes. The /Android/data directory on microSD cards is completely off limits. Not even ADB or USB sharing sees anything there.
Prior to the Play Store change, /Android/data on microSD cards was crazy slow but apps could be granted permission to have fast access to other directories. That permission is gone. It's all crazy slow now. I've seen benchmarks that random file access has gone from microseconds to many milliseconds. Apps that work with a lot of data slow down so much that they appear to be hung.

77, 29 Apr 2022You need too root and change kernels. Bypass it on the RomI'd love instructions for speeding up microSD access with a custom ROM. I'll probably swap ROMs as soon as they're compatible with Android 12 already being installed. I have several apps that I can't upgrade because they're too slow under the new file APIs. I've read that Sony's broken 5G can be at least partially fixed too.
I hope this is not true..(fingers crossed) but I read on notebookcheck that the new phones won't have a charger included in the box ughh...and the good news is charging is upgraded to 33w fast charging..the selfie cam has been upgraded to 12mp...one question though..does changing megapixel mean change in sensors too? i'm a bit unaware just let me know...
