Nice compact fone but top bezel had to be either smaller by making screen size a little larger 5.4 inch in size.

And that should come as no surprise given the amount of cross over in terms of components and manufacturing that goes on.
But you also were the one to mention that the most devices you are seeing for repair come from the same two brands, whilst avoiding the rather obvious fact that these are also the same two brands that happen to sell the most.
DaFink, 08 Apr 2022Hmmm, interesting. most of the phones that require repair happen to come from the brands that ... moreIt hasn't escaped me, but what I'm saying is this notion that these brands rarely, if ever, have issues is completely false. I have many customers who purchased handsets from us and return within 3-6 months because of manufacturing issues.
I'm not here trying to lambast any particular brand; what I AM saying is, to suggest that Samsung or Apple are any better than Xiaomi or Oppo or Motorola or indeed most other KNOWN brands is foundless. If there is evidence that certain brands objectively fail more than others in recent years, please share it. Until then, I'm going to continue to trust my own lived-experience that when it comes to longevity in regards to the OS, the battery life, manufacturing issues and so forth, Samsung and Apple are realistically no more reliable than the other brands.

Most people buying such a device couldn’t give less of a dam about gaming on the thing if they tried.
I’ll say it again for those having trouble keeping up. The target audience for this device care neither for mobile gaming (beyond the occasional go on CandyCrush whilst waiting on a bus stop) nor the 1000 or so Xiaomi devices released on any given day.

This coincidence somehow seems to have escaped you?
AlienKiss, 08 Apr 2022Why do you have to bring up replica brands that nobody actually wants or cares about?
Who in ... moreI work for a smartphone retailer in the UK and have done for nearly a decade now and let me tell you - there is no superior brand. We're listed as a drop off store for consumers wishing to send their handsets away for manufacturing warranty, across all brands, and if I've got 10 phones in my warehouse waiting to be packaged and sent away for repair, 8 of those will be Samsung A-Range phones, one will be an iPhone, the other invariably a Pixel or perhaps Motorola.
In terms of sheer issues - bootloops, screen issues, dead or dying speakers, charging issues - these are far-and-away most prevalent on iPhones. I myself have gone from iPhone, to Samsung, to Huawei, then back to Samsung for my first Note (Note 8) to a OnePlus and now to a Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G and the Xiaomi has absolutely blown the rest out of the water. This notion - based entirely on anecdote and no factual, first hand experience or insight - that somehow Samsung and Apple are these super reliable, build-quality behemoths is nonsense.
Again, from somebody who has worked with phone 24/7, 9 -5 for a decade.

AnonD-731363, 08 Apr 2022The newest cheapest iPhone is the iPhone SE (2022), and a lot of people seem to be interested ... morePeople keep calling iOS "prison OS" and other stupid names, what's Android then? Clown OS ? It's maintained so poorly one could say it hardly has any support and that's basically across the board with all phone makers using it, everything custom is one off half baked stuff someone bolted together on XDA over weekend with even less support for the most part, runs like garbage long term because you need to factory reset phones constantly to make them run "clean" and bunch of other nonsense. So what if you can't use themes and fiddle with bazillion settings, at least what you have works super reliably. And just because you can't install 50 ugly themes or sideload apps and flash bad ROM's it's not limiting or restricting. Reality is, 3/4 of users never do any of that. Except the 50 ugly themes part.
solided, 08 Apr 2022It's better than nothing but I agree. So many Android phones and not a single compact one.You get used to large phones easily. I switched from S6 Edge to A52.
solided, 08 Apr 2022It's better than nothing but I agree. So many Android phones and not a single compact one.For as long as we have "vanilla" models like regular iPhone 13, regular Galaxy S22, regular Xiaomi 12, it's still sort of fine. 6" is sweet spot between tiny and huge. It's just about right. Anything under is pretty small and anything over is huge.
The newest cheapest iPhone is the iPhone SE (2022), and a lot of people seem to be interested in this one despite its seemingly lackluster sales numbers. We're assuming that's because it's the most affordable way to get into the iOS ecosystem if you don't want to buy refurbished or used devices. But the iPhone SE (2022) also looks old and dated, even though it has the highest performing mobile SoC available.
Paying 600 for a prison OS is ridiculous.
Having best CPU on Paper but in real life use throttling and bad for gaming where 2018 mAh cell depletes in maybe 2 hours is even more ridiculous.
I would like say big NO but many people obsessed with this brand will surely pay 600 for a 2014 looking phone with bad specs apart the CPU which aint much.
Old Pocophone by Xiaomi costed 330 on launch and were way better in other specs.
This one have only good CPU which aint much rest is outdated as usualy.
