bj80sbaby, 17 Mar 2022In short, greed is the driving force.Maybe, but they aren't getting new subs anymore since covid "vacation" is slowly ending for most part of the world.
And netflix needs to please their investors who abide by the capitalism's principle of perpetual growth.

The prices have been increasing on a steady basis. The amount and quality of content also has increased along the way. However, the competition (HBO Max, Amazon Prime, Disney+, etc...) have also improved their offering. The price hikes, along with a controlled environment, and the competition might send Netflix in a negative snowball effect, from which it will not be able to recover. Adding to this, I have experience an automatic change of plan - without me (the owner) allowing it - and I am sure my kids did not do it, because they were not near a Netflix device. To you, Netflix, I say: it has became more difficult to justify your price here at home!

question is how does netflix define a household, their logic doesnt make a lot of sense because for example what if I have a holiday home i go to in the summer, technically its a different household but its still be using it. Netflix has been pushing their luck for far too long, I can only see them loosing customers if they go down this route

What a stupid logic. Number of streams are limited anyway. So why do they care if I share my password with anyone or not?!

Netflix already rise their price every year and now they want to include a fee for sharing the password? For what? for making a serie and after the first season, they cancel it? For those low budget script movies with some famous actors? Netflix is and will be a Sunday afternoon family platform. HBO has more "mature" series and movies in their list.

For many years Netflix has been talking and threatening with this. Now years later, still nothing happens.

Me: OMG! No! Take it away!

                Millennials: Ummm, what are books?

PS Movies have become very bad in the last years. I love sci-fi, but I totally dislike these new superhero movies. They are absolutely the worst movies! Especially Marvel garbage!

Gotta pay and maintain executives salaries snd perks and the shareholders tso they dont lose to keep up their luxury lives by getting all the users of the service to pay for it.

Have mostly watched all tv shows and movies that interest me, not essy to find new interesting stuff to watch.

If they charge extra to watch in another place then will cancel as the existing subscription just sits there most of the month without watching anything.

Anders, 17 Mar 2022Netflix sees you when you're sleeping Netflix knows when you're awake Netflix know... moreLOL, that was pretty good. I don't know how they can do this without punishing people who use it over vpn or who have moved or bounce in between a few places / devices. Whatever they plan to do, it will likely cause problems for some cases where people were not sharing passwords. IDC anyway personally. I barely use my Netflix, my gf uses it. Let them try this on me and it'll be a good reason to drop it.

True but torrenting is illegal you can be fined or put in prison
ISP's can be taken to court if they are not actively banning websites that stream or torrent free stuff. and they can throttle your internet speed if you use pvp torrents.
