ae86, 16 Mar 2022Business is truly odd. Despite being a business student it still weird me how a company that c... moreARM is only designing the architecture. I'd say biggest profits are on side of Mediatek, Qualcomm, Apple, Samsung, basically everyone that's actually producing said chipsets. If Intel was only selling x86 licenses, I don't think they'd be making as much money as they are with actually selling the end products based on that architecture.

Because of their anticipation of acquisitions they made certain forecast or even budgeted on making returns after said deal is to be finalized

They probably even paused on certain operations

Now the acquisition wasn't successful so the company will not take any loses so they pass it on to their employees

It's the same reason why if you tax the rich or even raise minimum wage or even fine billion dollar companies

Goods get more expensive or people get laid off as again they are passing the loses elsewhere

Also being a mega business does not mean you are very liquid enough to meet your day to day operations.. plus many big business run on loans..

Imagine for a moment you own a Ferrari you have 8 million dollars on you debit card.. and 1$ cash in your wallet and your nearest ATM is 200 miles away

A beggar ask you for 5$ you are functional broke in that circumstance even though your a millionaire in an expensive care that beggar will probably day how can't this millionaire give me just 5 dollars

Business is truly odd. Despite being a business student it still weird me how a company that controls a huge market share can still generate losses

rizki1, 16 Mar 2022so no more Tegra gpu now? very sad, this will be best gpu for gaming phone/tablets is they are... moreThe Android games that actually make use of the Tegra GPUs' capabilities are so few, I can honestly make an argument that your device will run into a CPU bottleneck before you can actually make any real use out of the GPU's capabilities.
Don't believe me? Shield K1 tablet - GPU is still really good even by today's standards, yet the device performs significantly worse than even mid-tier phones just because the CPU is that outdated in comparison.

To note: Rene Haas is an Nvidia Vice President that was put at the head of ARM after the acquisition failed.

No problem. Other companies need people like them. Someone really think that Nvidia have been kept those people there?! The first thing a new buyer does is to merge departments and layoff people.
