Anonymous, 06 Mar 2022Why would you replace LG Velvet so soon, it's still supported. The LG stopped getting updates for months and it had some very annoying bugs - GPS stalls, bad fingerprint reader, CPU stalls. I thought the Xperia 1 III would remedy that and bring a nice performance boost. It did boost performance, but then the LG started getting software improvements while the Xperia 1 III remains a mess.

I bring the LG phone with me sometimes. It's sluggish running OsmAnd+ maps but it has working LTE or 5G while the Sony is dumpster diving for a 3G signal.

When iPhone X released 3.5 years ago and reached that 1000EUR mark, everybody said that iPhones and Samsung phones will reach 1500-2000EUR in 2-3 years. After 3.5 years the prices increased of course, but not by much (I am talking about the base variants of their flagships).

The problem is, that people started buying these very expensive phones more and more. And of course, Chinese companies wanted a piece of that pie too. That is why in recent times, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo started releasing 1000EUR phones.
Now, I don't want to say they don't deserve those prices (maybe they do, maybe they don't; people can buy whatever they want with their money). But, when you think that just couple of years ago OnePlus or Xiaomi for example, were releasing flagship killers at 500EUR, is kind of sad.

I just want some competition to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite. It was one of the best phones launched in years.

Anything with an X1 or X2 core is just ridiculously overkill to me. Paying more for my phone to overheat 🙄.

When oppo is starting to sell $1000+ phones, it's downhill for everyone. Samsung and Apple will be $2000 in 3 years.

I'm not interested in phones that snap in half (OnePlus), or in phones that have plastic frame and other sub-par materials, or phones that have the bootloader locked.
But don't worry, in maximum 2 years the big brands will all move their factories in USA and Europe. Look what's happening in Arizona. They are starting to make chips themselves so they can finally say no to china.
And yes, they will cost more, but I'd be happy to pay more if I know it's made in the FREE WORLD!
                  Quantity does not equal Quality!
