EricDVP, 27 Feb 2022nord 2 is a little old and android 11 with 2 years update it is android 12 and 2years update... moreThe Nord 2 was announced in July 2021 - that's only 7 months ago. I paid about $AU580 from OP's official store on AliExpress during a sale at the time it was released. I'd have to do some conversions to see how that compares to the 9 Pro+. I get confused by the different currency symbols. Pounds, Euro, etc!

EricDVP, 27 Feb 2022samsung? oneplus? a73 and sd750 vs dimen 920? a73 25w vs 60w? The 9 Pro+ is no cheaper than the Nord 2, yet the Nord 2 has a flagship Dimensity chip and thinner bezels.

Charging speed isn't a major consideration to me.

Great value phones for years and then it increased its prices. I imagine Vivo will also go in that direction, though none of its phones appeal to me.

Xiaomi appears to have continued offering great value phones, though I don't like MIUI, and now that Samsung is offering excellent midrangers, I'm thinking of avoiding Chinese devices in the future. If they're no better value, I have to order them from overseas, and they don't provide VoLTE in Australia, it's not worth it.

Sneed, 27 Feb 2022So what are the more viable options at each respective pricepoint? Let me know. The Galaxy A52s and Nord 2 are options. Perhaps check out https://gsmarena.com/realme_9_pro_plus-review-2380p6.php and https://gsmarena.com/realme_9_pro-review-2378p6.php.

At the moment these phones seem to be the only midrangers that have an up to date version of Android. I thought this would be something normal and not worth mentioning but when Xiaomi and OnePlus release phones with a one year old Android version then this point becomes a big plus for these phones.

The Sony IMX in Realme 5 pro and 6 pro, combined with Snapdragon image processing had amazed me hundred of times. Now, they've even removed the 4k and 60 fps video recording. Replacing the Corning Glass with unknown local glasses vendor. When they sell good, the next step will be how to gain profits as much as possible. Welcome to the Chinese business.

"...you can get GT Master for less than that".

Normal price for GT Master in certain markets are equivalent of USD100 higher than those of Realme 9 Pro (USD380 for GT Master vs 280 for 9P). Well the GT Master probably worth the bump up, but at USD280 it actually holds up pretty well (unless you want to sacrifice something and grab Poco F3 for even less money)

But at 300+ though it's a complete no go.

In the price range they are offering the device one can get a far better option than this one. I thought that this would be in the range of 15k to 20k and I thought that i would buy it but on launch when the prices were revealed i was not expecting this from realme. if the prices get a decrement I would consider buying it.

I think this was Realme's chance to shine after the disappointing 8 series. It blew it big time. Why would anyone buy a Realme when it's not good value? Samsung's and even OnePlus' midrange offerings are superior at the same price point.
