So how will this distinguish itself from the 11 Lite 5G and 11 Lite 5G NE? (former 780G and latter 778G processor)? (these models even have MIUI13 Android 12 already).....zzzzzzz
12, 12 Pro, 12 Ultra, 12 Ultra Enhanced Edition, 12X, 12i, 12T, 12T Pro, 12 Lite, 12 SE.
This is so ridiculous !!
I think they should go with with IMX766 instead, but still without OIS
Good but too big. Many people already full with big phones and want something compact and lightweight but still powerful enough.
Shadocx, 23 Feb 2022They've already disappointed me with their 12 series downgrades compared to Mi 11 series,... moreSamsung is the new king.
its very bad that it have curved screen
"Lite" is bigger than its normal edition?
Man, Xiaomi has thrown every standardization (and common sense) in naming conventions down the drain. Other companies are doing the same. I can't help but feel this is done intentionally to confuse the consumer. Xiaomi has built a good reputation over the years and now it's inconsistency after inconsistency. I'm a happy Xiaomi user by the way. No problems so far: Note 4X, Note 6 Pro (which isn't "pro" because there's no Note 6) and now Note 9S. Anything above them is too expensive in my country. Samsung and Motorola are incredibly overpriced.
As for what concerns performance downgrades (not only on Xiaomi phones but all across the board), the so called "chip war" probably plays its role. Many Chinese phones had swapped Snapdragon for Mediatek. Hopefully this will now normalize and we consumers don't suffer.

I remember I bought this new Nokia phone that had a four inch screen and it looked giant at the time. Now 4 inches is tiny and 5 inch is mini, with 6 being called compact by most of phone companies, how times have changed
Seems to have a waterfall display. Kinda disappointing that there is no OIS and that the main sensor is only a 64MP one.
Also, the SoC should be the next gen Series 7 chip, not a mere 778+. It should be the first rebranding of the 700 series, likely called «Snapdragon 7 Series 7 Gen 1».
8mp ultrawide & 5mp macro will be other two cameras. Pretty obvious

Lite is bigger
They might see some success with the mini variant given they do not try to make it relatively smaller but instead make it as a true compact device.
When phones companies make a phone that's like a six inches of screen and call it a compact, it is just BS, because a true compact phone has to be under 140mm in length. Let's see what they do this time around
Like every other Lite version, it will be oled, flat screen
For a phone called the 12 LITE, you would probably expect it to be smaller than the standard 12, but ah well. There is the 12 mini still coming.
It would have been more useful if they released a 12 variant with like a 5.7 inch display. The 6.28 inch was a step in the right direction but it’s not the final goal.
WHY NOT???????
6.1 inch
6.0 inch
or even lower
stuck to more than 6.55 inch......all android phones
