It‘s nice and all but regularly charging is less convenient as well and together with the e-waste and massive cost, I guess it evens out and I don‘t have racks so I opt for the cheaper option.
I wouldn‘t mind a comeback of headphone jack, and I say that as an early adopter to the no-headphone-jack-life with the iPhone 7. I can live like that but it would just be more convenient to have it because I wouldn’t have to worry about the adapter and the times where I want to both charge and use headphones. It‘s just like the HDMI port on the new MacBook Pros, it‘s not necessary because it can be solved with an adapter, but not having to worry about that and just plugging straight from TV/Beamer into the laptop is more convenient.
I also never understood charging wirelessly on a regular basis. If it is integrated into furniture, let‘s say into the table at a McDonalds or wherever you don‘t have your charging cable at Hand, then it‘s nice. But for nightly charging, the lesser efficiency, higher heat and wear on the components and the battery is not worth the „convenience“ of not having to plug in a cable.

I don't embrace wireless audio anymore because it only creates more e-waste with little benefit.

The ones who got android 11 or 12 hardly notice a difference as majority of the changes are under the hood. You want five years update just for sake of it? Or an actual operating system system that does things on budget devices that ios can only dream of

I used wired ones on laptop in living room with cable extended between coffee table and sofa and I destroyed all of them by pulling cable by accident. Or someone blending them with a turbo brush on vacuum cleaner because the cable was partially on the floor. No such issues with wireless ones.

Wow look at all these "tech enthusiasts" claiming this and that. You all act as if 3rd party OS options don't exist and that all the major brands are holding a gun to your head to upgrade annually.
IF someone really wants to keep their phone for 3+ years, there are options, some easier than others,

I could buy iPhone 13 Pro Max with largest memory possible this moment if I'd want to. Or the Xiaomi Mi11 Ultra or whatever. The thing is, I just don't need to for the iPhone and don't want to for Android. I'm on iPhone XR still. It's an old phone at this point by every metric. But it still holds me full day with just 80% charge after being 3 years old. Chipset is still stupid fast as it's in iPhone tradition for last several years making all apps snappy like I'm using a brand new flagship, display is excellent despite being LCD and only 840p, sound is excellent, camera makes perfect photos for all my needs and they are always good in the end. And I'm still getting all the software updates and I'll continue to for 2 more years lol. And that's just for major OS updates, there are still more years of security updates only after that. I always replaced Android phones because losing software updates really annoyed me. Since that's a non issue on iPhone, I really see no reason why I shouldn't keep on using it. My curiosity is bugging me as I like to try new things, but I restrain myself at the moment and I'll stick with it for some more time. Even if phone is old, getting full new iOS version every year is still exciting and that keeps me going with this old clunker. With Android I'd just get bored after not even getting any OS updates anymore. Which is exactly what everyone but Fairphone are banking on. Fairphone is certainly NOT for people like 99% here on GSMArena who only trip on specs and change phones faster than they change underwear...
