Night sight is just too slow

ChickenVN, 24 Nov 2021Why no headphone jack :(. And Snapdragon processor ;(1) because even midrangers start to dump the 3.5mm jack ,(sadly, and above that comes lack of micro SD slots)
2) Google goes "custom" chip from now on.

I wonder when Google is finally going to release these phones everywhere, until now most people I know have to import them, while pretty much all other brands are available on store shelfs.

It's right there in the settings of gcam mod.
If the average person can choose video resolution or switch to portrait mode or some other thing in settings for default app or otherwise, surely they can adjust settings for how many frames to be captured. There are plenty of people using gcam mods, not just the tech savvy ones. You need to get out more...

J don't know how techy you are, but average people aren't going to use mods. People just shoot with the official app.
Are you an diehard pixel hater? Sure you can adjusy how many frames you want but aill most people do that? We ate talking auto mode brooo

Night sight can be adjusted to click 15, 25 or more pictures. Therefore, there is easy flexibility in the amount of time taken to click a picture. The process happens even faster on flagship phones.
An ios based phone will never have the deep level of control like Android devices no matter which part of the operating system you visit.

Depending on the price I can see this being a reasonable trade off. I probably would have bought a Pixel 6 if it wasn't a big phone. Seeing that the small version will be a steep drop off in camera performance for the first time in the a-series is a disappointment. The positive is that it will have faster CPU and GPU performance than ever before in the a-series. But, I think the price is right on the normal Pixel 6, size is literally the only deal breaker for me. I think they will try to get the 6a closer to the original timeline.

I don't mind it. Since even Pixel 5 is still excellent. But Night sight, as good as it is, takes 6 seconds for one shot. Which doesn't include processing time. This even applies to Pixel 6 with the tensor chip and brand new sensor. Hope using an older sensor paired with tensor chip could make night sight 2 - 3 seconds, 6 seconds is too long. Also, Iphone 12 Pro with the same small 12 MP sensor can even take night shots at just 3 seconds and excellent video with HDR. Hope the 6a can get the same level of speed and video quality
