Some people earn in less than a day what an average worker would earn in his entire working life, I'm not saying it's a fair system or anything, it is what it is.

But that's besides the point. It's a counter-statement to Apple's when they said that replacing the Lightning port would stifle innovation... clearly makes no difference whatsoever in that regard.
As someone who hates Apple's business practices, I would've bid on it. Thought about it when it was ~4,500, but then it skyrocketed past 10k. 86k is a sizeable F-U to Apple however, kudos to the buyer.

The thing is normal people think 2.9 million is a lot and think on "wow how many years would I have to work to accumulate that at $XX per hour salary", but the person who bought that NFT probably made back the 2.9 million in the stock market the next couple of days, and now he knows he owns the very very first tweet ever. If they offered me to buy a cool piece of tech history for 2.9 dollars, I'd do it in a heartbeat cus 2.9 bucks won't affect my net worth, it'll be neglegible.
