Anonymous, 13 Sep 2021Weird that we dont see Olympus, Canon or Nikon branding on phones. These 3 brands probably don... moreI will add that in Zeiss case, they only provide lenses in their partnerships (Nokia Symbian, Lumia, Sony, vivo, Nokia Android).
All the algorithms and sensor stuff are decided and managed by the OEM, not Zeiss.
Leica is the only one that I know of, that actually gave a hand with the software processing on their partnership with Huawei.

MATE 30 PRO, 13 Sep 2021Seems you don't know Leica.Japan makes the best cameras. Leica, Kodak, are "once-upon-a-time" companies. They haven't made proper camera equipment in decades. Just because they're "western" brands is the reason they're still seen as premium ones.
Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Panasonic are the kings.
Also, most of Leica's cameras are Panasonic-rebranded clones.

Isn't this the same thing that Leica did with the Leitz 1? Apart from visual aesthetic changes, it's still a Sharp Aquos R6 underneath the body.
