MarcosSD, 28 Aug 202136k is little bit extra than again it's for offline market so you can get it for 32/33k..... moreYeah, but the M series won't have 4 years of software support as well as niche features like full-fledged Audio tweaking, Carrier Aggregation, and a lot of other features that come with the full version of One UI. Even the more expensive M series models don't have basic carrier aggregation that results in better data speed and network and they have a light version of One UI called One UI Core.

Xiaomi has a couple of Mi11X series but it doesn't have a good camera and the rest is better in Samsung. OnePlus has a Nord 2 but again worse features than Samsung and apart from bad software support from OnePlus they don't have proper service centers all over the country either. Samsung is the only viable option here that too with 4 years of software support it's a no brainer.

Anonymous, 28 Aug 2021I thought the whole point of the "Make in India" schtick was to lower the prices of ... moreI somewhat get your point, but you do realise that the A52s 5G will cost INR 39,000 in Europe and US (Source - https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_reveals_galaxy_a52s_5g_price_in_europe-news-50654.php ). The same thing will cost INR 36,000 in India. That IS about the price difference you get with local manufacturing. Components like Snapdragon SoCs, Samsung AMOLEDs will cost the same, be it US, India, Norway or Madagascar.
With deals & using HDFC cards, you can get the device for Rs. 33k-34k which is about right, considering a powerful 5G SoC, OIS, IP67 rating, 3 OS updates etc..this is equivalent to a FE edition.
About you claiming the "Make in India" intiative being a flop, despite the p#ndemic, Samsung has recently finished setting up a huge AMOLED panel manufacturing unit in Noida, Uttar Pradesh (Source - https://telecom.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/samsungs-display-arm-begins-production-of-mobile-display-in-noida/82141050 ) so the price will certainly come down once it achieves scale.
Interestingly, through the flop Make in India ,Samsung also has the largest mobile factory in Noida, since 2018 ( https://news.samsung.com/in/samsung-inaugurates-worlds-largest-mobile-factory-in-india ), which has also helped with Samsung phones being somewhat competitively priced despite their huge margins, courtesy their 'brand value' ,compared to Chinese players, who makeup for low margins through corner cutting & "shady priv@cy practices"..

A dated Pixel is many times better than even the latest flagship Samsung comic. But then again, Pixels have their own problems too, on the hardware front that is.

Although I'm still using a dated Pixel, I know Samsung has tremendously improved their software experience and is doing great by offering most of their phones here in India, unlike Google who have left their fans high and dry.
As I said, I'm OK to pay a premium for a non-Chinese phone! Case closed!!

At nearly $500, Samsung should have no problem giving wired DeX capability to this phone. Snapdragon 778G is more than capable to be a pocket PC. After all, 778G and also 780G is direct follow up to both 765G and 768G, and LG had proved before that 765G was more than capable to be a pocket PC with the Velvet 5G and the Wing 5G.

But SD 778 has integrated 4g/5g modem in SOC itself and 778 is 6nm chip where as 870 is 7nm chip. So basically 778 is close to 870 in performance and more battery efficient. Of course 778g runs cooler than hotter 870.
