Samsung was more involved in X1 than Qualcomm, to replace Moongoose cores on Exynos (when Qualcomm stop developping real custom cores with SD835 - the only real Kryo were used on SD820, all the others are copied/pasted Cortex A)
Arm doesn't refuse partnership, it's not their philosophy (at least now), I doubt Arm refuse Mediatek (Mediatek pays fees for Mali when Qualcomm doesn't).
Considering X1's behavior on SD888 and Exynos 2100, it's a good thing Mediatek doesn't use it (like it was a wise decision not using Cortex A57 on Helio X10 like it was planed on prototypes)
With Nuvia's acquisition, Qualcomm will probably stop using Cortex X soon (not on the next snapdragon but I imagine in 2023)

PoorTek, 29 Jul 2021Yeah, and power usage will be twice of Qualcomm ;)I wonder what ignorance cause u to say so
I have heard the news and I was glad that the people are inventing much better and faster . I hope corona don't stop you from inventing .
Yeah, and power usage will be twice of Qualcomm ;)
GSM--ARENA, 28 Jul 2021This report should be taken with a grain of salt. Mediatek exaggerates the specs of their proc... moreDimensity 1200 is a good competitor to 865+/870
On AI capabilities it even detroys 870 by 70%!

4 gen? That's a joke! 865/865+/870 are the same soc...you can consider 1 gen : 888...and that's not a good one!
Overclocking? Who pushed frequencies up to 3.2ghz with TSMC's 7nm? Qualcomm!
Who pushed X1 to 3.0ghz on 888+ with Samsung's so called 5nm when X1 is already unstable on 888? Qualcomm!
Who provides obsolete video decoder without AV1 hardware support? Qualcomm!
Last year, Dimensity 1000 already decode it. This year Mediatek offers it even on mid-range (Dimensity 900)...on SD888, no support!
For streaming, Qualcomm is 2 years late!
Instabilité? Seriously...look at 888! Launch Genshin Impact during 10 minutes, Dimensity 1200 will offer you better framerate than Xperia 1 III or Galaxy S21!

Never seen any Mediatek's died ever...even my DVD player's mt1389DE still works after 17 years!
What will often fail is Nand storage, not the soc

Anonymous, 28 Jul 2021M1 gimmick isn't even a competition as it doesn't run Android Its from a company that says their green but in actuality sells overpriced unrepairable products with planned obscolence.
Enemies of progress, how would u guys feel if someone told u that u will never make it like or become great.
It's worth noting that Qualcomm was getting greedy and hasty that's they went Samsung.
Samsung is known for high quantity of production in short period of time while being less careful and meticulous.
This shows in the constant superiority of SD over Exynos YoY.
So the question is, why would Qualcomm even go with Samsung when it's a fact that TSMC makes better SD chips for them than Samsung does it's own Exynos? They got greedy and wanted to meet supply target, throwing caution to the air and finally getting sub standard products (888 is in overheating crisis). MediaTek seized the opportunity and now on the way to go HTH with Qualcomm who dominated the market for decades.
Meanwhile who gives their strongest competition a contract to manufacture the only product that keeps relevant?

Anonymous, 28 Jul 2021Samsung 4nm for SD895?Your comment doesn't make sense, especially here. However it's worth noting that Qualcomm was getting greedy and hasty that's they went Samsung.

Guru, 28 Jul 2021The big problem with MediaTek is that development suks. No CUSTOM ROMs, Mods, etc.Im not interester in Custom ROMs. How many % of mobile users in world using custom roms dude?
80% people busy in joking abt mediatek but mediatek comimg near Snapdragon silently...after few years these people still busy in joking bt mediatek will b stand beside quallcom... and that time these 80% people feel they r totaly wrong abt mediaTek
Does MediaTek support GPS now? I remember I had a HomTom phone with their chipset MT6589 and it had non-existent GPS functionality.
In fact, an app called MobileUncle MTK Tools was needed to get the GPS to work on MediaTek based devices, and it would download these EPO files from some remote servers (long gone). With that app, the GPS would work, but fixing a location would take 20-30 minutes outdoor.
So I'd like to know: Do MediaTek chips now support GPS well, or are users still installing MobileUncle MTK tools and trying other ridiculous workarounds?

But then only refer to comparisons in the flagship category.. very suspicious logic and bias there buddy
Does your findings also hold up for comparison between the dimensity 800u and 750g for example
And what about entry level?
