It's simple to me...if you need a smartwatch now...don't wait, get something else now. I recommend the Amazfit GRT2...got this because GARMIN was delayed, Wear OS rollout too slow, Apple Watch step counting is very wrong ( yes I own these devices), but Amazfit GTR2 seems to be on on track with fitness tracking, but also long battery life. Save yourself the time, headache and money.

Not sure how you think that will ever happen. To have that length of battery life you won't ever be able to get an apple or google watch. The longer battery life can't handle a full os watch.

TicWatch 3 Pro owner here. I'm good with waiting. The current Wear OS is fine for me with 3 days of battery life so I can wait.

The reason for the late coming update is because as with all software it has to be customized to run on the customized hardware of different vendors. This isn't a surprise to people in the business of writing software of manufacturing hardware but we're used to having companies work on projects behind the closed doors and only announce them once they're ready to launch which creates an illusion of immediacy that doesn't really exist.
