And by the way, a standard already exists - Power Delivery. Only it is already also outdated, since it is rated up to 100 W and here we have much more. OK, they create a new one, which will be beaten in next two years, and they will have to create another one... and another...
      So much for the standards.
Still don't get it? Then no one can help you.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 20218 minutes to be exact. So basically no waiting around for the phone to be charged.1 cycle of 200W charging is akin to lighting 2 x 100W bulbs for 15 minutes add to it the number of mobiles being charged per day ..... Enough electricity lost that could have helped mankind come out of the digital darkness ....

Yes, it was possible in times, where no fast charging was used, but not today. With every new model, or new generation of chipsets, the charging power goes up, so the chargers have to follow. No matter how "unifying" you try to be, every new technology means new chargers.
What you ask for is stagnation, that's unacceptable. Even now you can use chargers throughout the brands and models, they just don't work at full power. Why would (for example) Samsung produce a charger capable of 200 W, if they only use 50 W? With your idea the Samsung charger would get more expensive, not cheaper.

I wonder if the Mi 12 Ultra will have the same graphene-enhanced battery as in the Mi 10 Ultra. I also would love to see how hot the battery will be with a 200W charging rate. The Mi 10 Ultra's 120W charging is already too hot in the first place, imagine the battery temperature at 200W.

i've never worried about charging since i had Oppo smartphone, SuperVOOC 65w is already plenty fast for me, i woke up in the morning charge my 10% battery and do my morning routines, about 30 minutes or so it's already charged and it'll last until tomorrow morning, nice. and this 200w is crazy, i'd love it even it's unnecessary.

God! I can't even sleep or take a break with my smartphone charging in 33watts from 1% to 100%... what else could have happen to me if i had a 200watts charger to be use to charge my smartphone everyday? Maybe i could suffer from insomnia & sleeplessness, and die off eventually from too much mobile gaming, hahaha!🤣😂😝🤪😜✌️
