Who cares about what HMD has to say at this point? They have been "Teasing" their next flagship for now long now? Either come out with something that's supposed to impress us or shut it.

The quote actually says trying to launch BEFORE Nov 11. Not ON Nov 11.

Nokia(HMD) was claiming that they design their devices in house and that it uses the Nordic design language. However they started pairing the designs.
Just think the same about Xiaomi as you claim "We are designing our phones in China and it is inspired by the Chinese traditional design language"

          Am using a Nokia 2.4. Couldn't get a Nokia 5.4 in Uganda.
OS updates take long, and phone specifications are at the button of the food chain. They even have distribution problems. I don't know how this company lost focus. But they need serious help.
Nokia is 5 yrs behind other phone companies!

Nokia is irrelevant atleast in India now. They've still not learnt how to price their smartphones. They still think people care about the Nokia brand. They're so mistaken.

There's no way they will release a Flagship. All these source "Claiming" that HMD is making a flagship is FAKE in the last 2.5 years. There is clear evidence that HMD will never make a flagship in the future. Their target right now is to sell budget and midrange devices.

Google will launch Android 12 OS in August 2021. Still HMD will release this phone in November 2021 with Android 11 pre-installed and with the label on the box in bold letters 'Android 12 Ready'. HMD will provide Android 12 OS update to this phone in Q3 (July) 2022. Typical HMD Global.

keaixiaomeinv, 06 Jul 2021Why? As in, why would Harmony OS be a selling point? Huawei has enough trouble convincing thei... moreBecause the article says that the phone is being released in China. Huawei phones are sold out in China and it looks like there won't be any solution to their restriction problems so another brand using Harmony OS would give Chinese consumers an option to gain access to the system and from reviews and comment forums it does at least seem like a lot of Chinese consumers want to try Harmony OS. Nokia's current nearly stock android is not very practical for China where the benefits of Google are all not available and Nokia probably doesn't have the resources to develop and maintain things like a Nokia payment wallet which is needed to use public transport in China and for access cards to offices, cars and local communities etc. I have the same issue with my Moto Edge S which uses nearly stock android in China. It has nfc but the nfc is almost useless without a Moto Wallet as I can't use it to swipe on public transport or for access keys to my office. I ended up having to by an Honor band just for the nfc functionality and access to the Wallet.
With Harmony OS they would have access to these additional features that are wanted by many Chinese Consumers. Of course if they also release it in non-Chinese markets then Harmony OS would be a disadvantage but they could use stock android instead in other markets. Anyway, basically my point is if they release it with near stock android in China it won't do well as it won't be as cheap as some of the bigger competitors and will have nothing really to entice consumers with.

Does anyone know when (or if) HMD will lose the right to use the Nokia brand on their phones? Because it can't happen soon enough. And the second they lose the Nokia name, their business is done.
