It's really hard to explain to mobile users why she or he should have portable music player besides the phone but if they give it a try at least half would convert. I stopped listening to wired music on my phone long time ago, just use it for Bluetooth but it's my Walkman that does all the heavy lifting when I got on the long walks.

imparanoic, 29 May 2021I have wh-1000xm3 For my model of Wh-1000xm2 LDAC worked on Snapdragon, Exynos or Mediatek chips - it just needed Android 8+.
But Sony does have a really bad software and if you select you prefer "signal stability" it often switches to subpar AAC.

Fearghast, 28 May 2021True, Sony has no clue on how to make a proper DAC by themselves.Half true as the WM1A and WM1Z are still strong contenders in the portable Audiophile gears and they have very strong DAC through Sony's S-Master solutions.

No existing Apple device can handle LDAC. Unless you're talking about the Android version of Apple Music, which still needs a lot of refinements to be reliable

Weird that it affect some Exynos and other not perhaps? Or even randomly? I know that Exynos is/was kinda shitty but come on :/

Dan, 28 May 2021Batteries were fine to begin with but after about a year they dropped off to two or three hour... moreXM3s have replaceable batteries. You can find replacements probably in any local store. Looks like XM4s won't have this feature as they're now IPX4 protected. Although, it's probably still in the realm of managing being opened.
For me, XM4s sound a little on the expensive side for €280. I was cautious about waiting for it thinking that it would cost around €230, but that additional €50 is a little much for me. Maybe I'll have to wait a little more.

The xm3 buds where a game changer when they came out 2 years ago and even today it's one of the best.
1 of the best in sq (for tws)
1 of the best anc (only the bose are better)
Good call quality (although people can hear the background)
                              Good battery life.

                              Points of improvement where
                              Ip rating
                              Better ambient sound mode
A smaller case (if you don't use a car daily)
                              Smaller design
                              And people like wireless charging.

The xm4 seem to have improved on everything and then some.
If they've improved enough I'd buy it instantly for €280.
As i want new buds but all the others that are better in something are worse the other things.
