I wish they can have a way of tracking it even if its not switched on something that will reject thiefs and attract customers lastly my stolen z5 just lost its radio jacks could not give me sound.

as an ex-sony user I expect them to come up to the competition.firstly,they need to start selling phones 1-2 months after the launch.then,they need to improve low light,hdr portrait,zoom shot qualities on top of mark II.

The new phones look like an impressive evolution, I have the Xperia 5ii and it already such a complete mobile phone! Great to see Sony still pushing and enhancing, main highlights are the bigger battery and camera tech improvements along with integration of the pro camera features into the normal camera app as I tend to use that more for convenience!

Nick Tegrataker, 14 Apr 2021Xperia 5 III is there for you if you think it's compact enough.Xperia 5 it's a brick next to iphone 12 mini. Unfortunately the wait for a compact Android continues. But users like myself will probably have to switch to Apple to satisfy the need for compact smartphone.

That is.... moreIt doesn't switch "between two lenses", the same lens changes the focal length by moving some of the lens elements. And so far liquid lens (in the smartphone space) has only been used to extend the focus range but not the focal length.

Phones fan, 14 Apr 2021Unfortunately for the costumers, YesI see HTC and Nokia in worst positions right now. At least Sony is trying to bring something refreshing to the table.
Of course, it will be curious to see the prices. If Sony will follow the same path, these phones will cost more than the competition. But, who knows, maybe Sony will surprise everybody this year with some Xiaomi like prices. At least for the 5iii and 10iii, because the 1iii will surely cost 1200+EUR.

jamalu96, 14 Apr 2021the launching showcased 70,85 and 105mm with placing the lenses in 3 positions85mm zoom is most likely a digital zoom from the 70mm position. Notice how in the spec sheet Sony describes it as "70 mm, 105 mm" lens and not "70-105mm".

Did you even watch the presentation? Xperia 1 III has ONE telephoto lens that has an ability to switch between TWO focal lengths. While I found it slightly misleading to call it variable (since just like S9's "variable" aperture lens, there are only two states and there is no intermediate setting), Sony did make an improvement over the existing prime telephoto lens and did something other manufacturers haven't done yet.
