He wanted to say the mini led is just trying to emulate what OLED can do, why not just use OLED instead.
Mini led offer thousands of dimming zone vs. the typical LCD right now but it can't beat the per pixel lighting of OLED display.
Mini led is still inferior compared to OLED when it comes to picture quality.
Apple should just go for micro led instead but that will be super expensive.

But LEDs are smaller and more light efficient.
Smaller LEDs= harder to deal with = more expensive

i wanted the mini when it was due to get a long overdue design refresh, and a slightly bigger screen size, 8.4" would have been great, but that archaic design is so long out dated is not even funny, i will wait and see what comes of it, but if the existing design remains then forget that

I was expecting the new Ipad mini would use Ipad pro's design in the next gen. I need 8" powerful tablet for my daily gaming. Its hard to find 8" flagship grade tablet nowadays.

MINILED development can take market share from OLED
And offer higher profit margins in the long run seeing that not much overall is needed in manufacturing plant or research and development if They already have LCD infrastructure in place

And they researched for years to bring the 20W fast charging.
