Alex, 14 Feb 2021I have had my mi mix 2 for over 3 years. This thing is still working perfectly. Normally one of the reason why these phones are cheap is that they manufacture the chips (motherboard) or other components themselves. It is not a matter of low grade components.

In that case, they should have added a bigger screen so they can remove the punch hole selfie cam.
It would have been a better marketing point. Fullscreen up front and selfies/video calls using the rear cameras

to the 5x zoom behind a smaller sensor.
Look at performance of 10x zoom inside Galaxy S21 Ultra... The color profile is very different from main lens. In daytime, it is great, but at night, it's not that good.
Using a bigger sensor combined with 5x optical, they can easily give comparable 10x hybrid zoom images which are usually better in low light. While in daytime, the 10x hybrid zoom images slightly lags behind zoom from dedicated 10x lens.

Name one compromise they made apart from IP rating? And don't say headphone jack or micro SD card since we know including those inside their phones doesn't cost much. Manufacturers just want to push their wireless earbuds and bigger internal storage variants,which is why they omit those things.

I'm not sure what you mean by "terrible" here, but a 48MP sensor behind a 120mm equivalent FL lens is just as good as it gets on a phone camera. I'd rather have a great 5x tele lens over a mediocre quality 10x one.

Are your eyes so filled with hate, that it clouded your judgement and ability to do at least some research before commenting? The video in the article literally showed the internals and the quality internal components used.
