Ash, 11 Feb 2021Cant you just unlock bootloader and flash Global rom on it? or xiaomi.eu rom on it?The process is too long and cumbersome. Even so, Global ROMs aren't as stable and usable as the stock ROM, at least for my case where I often see other users complaining that the Global ROM they've installed is causing errors in the camera and sluggish performance.
This is particularly because most of the Chinese ROM Xiaomi devices have no Global versions, so the Global ROMs for them are developed by third party software devs instead of software engineers from Xiaomi (if there are any of them).
In simple terms, using a Chinese ROM variant of a Xiaomi phone is pretty much exactly the same as using any recent Huawei phone. Thus, I worry even more with regards to buying Global version of Xiaomi phones, as it may not be long enough before they also get completely banned by Google, which is why I'm looking forward to switching to other brands soon, even for less impressive hardware.

mi 10 ultra may have Samsung GN2 50 MP cam with larger pixel size. Samsung GN1 which is in iqoo 5, vivo x50 pro plus and vivo x60 pro plus are awesome.
Someguy20, 11 Feb 2021Chances are, it's the Eu version... It would probably be a lot worse for a lot more money...But frankly, it's the only way to have Xiaomi phones get packed with official GMS certification. Chinese version is next to useless unless you really won't use any Google Services at all, which is very unlikely even for a die-hard Google hater since pretty much everything in this world today is now incorporated in Google's platforms.
This is my only regret with my K30 5G, especially since this is literally the first time I've tried using a Chinese ROM variant.
Such a bad timing for this US ban against Chinese products, smh.
Another day, another unpocketable tablets by Xiaomi...
