GalaxyOneMate, 04 Feb 2021Are you stupid? Thes phone are nearly 4 years old and most people only use there phone for 3 y... moreNormies from xda/modding communities were able to put up to Android 11 on these phones so your whiteknighting didn't make sense. We even had 2013 phones running with Android 11 even if they aren't used as mains.

The business model is gonna collapse some day with the rise of phone sales in the current in 2022 and 2023, especially iPhones.

I know this post is more than two years late but just so you know that you're not alone with your sentiment.

billy, 24 Oct 2021Nope. I own a A5 2017. Stuck to Android 8. No security updates since december 2020Maybe too late but A5 and A7 2017 both have custom android 11 OS from lineage community. But yeah, these companies suck.

Clearly I'm the only user on the planet that expects tech companies to sell products that will work for longer than four years. Based on that logic, we can expect to replace washing machines, fridges, tvs, computers every four years because the manufacturers want more money from us numpties that continually upgrade before a product is dead.

I'm more than a little peeved that my A7, that was working fine until youtube stopped because it can't be updated - OS isn't supporting same. So hey Samsung, you want me to buy another phone just so I can continue to use apps? Haven't you heard about covid, job losses, etc???? ergo, a lot of people aren't cashed up any more.

        Geez louise.

PANKAJ , 04 Feb 2021I think Samsung a7 2018 model also getting ONE UI 3 Update No, it already received 2 software upgrades so it wouldn't get One UI 3. Only flagship phones from 2019 and selected midrange phones from 2020 onwards will receive 3 software updates.

Anonymous, 04 Feb 2021A7 2017 with its Ip67 and glass back was one of the best phones Samsung has ever produced. RIP.Amen to that.. uses that phone for 3 and half years. Now front screen and back glass broken, too expensive to repair, not worth it. On top my shelf collecting dust lol..

Since last August, all Samsung S, Fold, Z and Note devices (2019 models and newer) and also all mid-range devices from A51 and higher models will get 3 major Android updates.

[deleted post]The S series gets worse like every year. First they removed the FM radio, then the headphone jack and now even the microSD slot. Why should I buy such an overprized but useless phone, when the A series still have all of these functions. (And yes, I'm using those functions)
