Technologist, 03 Feb 2021Hopefully we will see Huawei have full support for Android soonYou dont need Google support longer you can find pure Apk replacement apps and even better ones like Vanced Youtube.

But if you want to use it Gspace, Dual space are avaible in Appgallery.

Virtuell machines like Vmos pro and Vphonegaga.

Petal search finds alot of apps also and website begin to share there apps directly on there website without need of any app store.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2021So is China that kicked everyone out that don't follow their obscure laws. What your point? Do you think those two are remotely close to being comparable?

Wait... That's folding inward? I thought it was folding outwards on first look...

            *sigh*

            Disappointed.

"Huawei foldable is better than Samsung because it has outward fold"

that statement doesn't age well 🤣

that's why you don't blindly defend a brand
because sometimes that brand will betray you

It's going to be a good product. Though it's just.. I already know the upcoming Z Fold 3 will be an even better choice for most people living outside China. If I were to get a foldable device then it would be a tablet, and also from Samsung. I still need GMS in my life, sorry.

Anonymous, 03 Feb 2021Lol copycat company blatantly ripping off android and calling it harmonyos, check out ars tech... moreKeep it in mind that absolutely nothing Ars Technica said in that article proves HarmonyOS is a simple Android fork (because it isn't). HarmonyOS is a microkernel based OS designed to run smaller, modular components on top of it, and for mobile phones that obviously includes Android compatibility layer that contains all the necessary files to run Android apps without any issue. There's no way for you to see Harmony OS kernels and complier doing its job in the back-end when you're just exploring through the Android subsystem which lies on top of them, and Ars Technica fell into that trap. This article explains the general idea well.
                          https://www.scmp.com/tech/gear/article/3104176/harmony-os-everything-you-need-know-about-huaweis-android-alternative

You can have Linux subsystem on your Windows machine and execute Linux apps natively or even use Ubuntu desktop if you're willing to go that far, but at the end of the day it still runs on Windows. The same logic applies here.

                            "... will reportedly support Android 10 ..."

So side loading Android, again. Hmmm ... the Fold 2 is neatly the perfect foldable, so what would Huawei bring, that isn't already there, would be the question.

It has pretty good battery life (just like all other Huawei phones) for such a big display & 5G.

Anyone can fork it and turn it into something else. However, Harmony OS was meant to be a brand new OS and not just a fork off Android. It will be disappointing if that's not the case.
