With software the pixel 5 captures the best low light pictures, until the end of july at least when huawei will launch the p50 pro.

Or we make a one all round device which will replace everything.
Like phones replaced walkmans, radios, audio recorders, navigations, cameras, camcoders etc.

I am... moreyes but its all down to the optics, hubble's mirror is 2.5m and polished down to the precision that is you would increase the size to the size of the planet, the biggest bump would be 15cm.
We will never have that in mobile.
Mobile will be always inferior to dlsr or mirrorless cameras

Even the Mark III by Cannon the best camera humans can buy for money if we exclude projects like hubble telescope is not even close to what Hubble Telescope can do and preform.

It's actually about both of them on top of whether a manufacturer has an intention to provide the feature to the end consumer in the first place. SD865 inside S20 and V60 can handle 4K120fps recording, so can their sensors, yet neither of them actually have the feature implemented in the camera app because Samsung and LG deemed it to be unnecessary.

As for the DPReview part: I'm sure you're talking about this specific image.
                  https://www.dpreview.com/files/p/articles/8550800535/sony_sensor2.jpeg
Sony's explanation on the readout speed was quite misleading here and DPReview also misinterpreted what was written on the slide - the comparison was clearly made between IMX557 and Samsung's slowest ISOCELL HM1 (you can see that from the fact it lists out the sensor readout time for both 12MP and 108MP mode) that also happened to be twice as large. As you already know, the larger the sensor size, the longer it takes to scan the entire area. Let's see how well it would stack up against similarly sized 1/1.72 inch ISOCELL GW1, although Sony wouldn't want to make that comparison for obvious reasons.

The point towards zooming using sensors is way too tough.

To make a sensor zoom 2x on same resolution, you need to increase its resolution to 4x.
To get 2x zoom of the current 108MP, you need 432MP...
Its just getting crazy out there.

Pretty sure these guys are hired tr^lls.

They are repeating same info about Read out speed that company talked about (yet very few benefits in real world and overall image quality in Auto mode is poor compared to other big sensors)

They said the same about the fake 90hz implementation on Xperia 1 II which again pales in comparison to real 90hz or 120hz screens.

They repeated company marketing points about manual mode.
Although it's good, but phones like Pixel are performing as good in Auto mode without all that manual tinkering.

Same way they have made up their minds about Samsung isocell sensors being poor despite the fact that Samsung used Sony and Samsung variants of the sensor in their flagships and very few people noticed a difference in quality.

Now if we could get 20-40mp at 1 inch.
Maybe even 12 as those would be massive pixels. Though id like 40.
Just upgrade the Nokia 808 sensor so we get 40mp at 2um with ois, faster focus, better lens, and retain their natural processing.
