I am not sure of the release date.
It is just my hunch.
Seeing that it is December now, do you think they will release the new ipad in 7 mths time when they just released their 2020 model in sept 2020.
the shortest time interval between 2 gen is 8 months (3rd -> 4th gen) and the longest being 3 yrs (4th -> 5th gen) based on the info in wiki (I know it may not be accurate).
So, I am /*Guessing*/ that the earliest they can release the "improved version" of gen 8 Ipad will be May 2021.
Unless their sale record for gen 8 is not up to expectation that they had to introduce the improvement asap.

M1 powered Macs can make excellent laptops but for something the iPad being a tablet can do better. I couldn’t imagine using a Mac to browse the internet on a train journey or on the beach.

If it is 64gb rom/3-4gb ram, it will be worth it.
However, if it is still 32 gb rom without micro SD slot, I think the 2019 model will be good enough.
Beside, they released their iPad (2020) not to long ago.
So, even if they say it will be released at early 2021, it will not be before April 2021.

All i need is 64gb as base model, i dont care about anything else apple, i want ipad for school purpose like reviewer etc but i can only afford the base variant because my parents will never buy me a gadget.
