SathishKannan, 28 Oct 2020LG could have used SD855 on Velvet instead of giving out all its SD855 stock on G8x through sa... moreBut with Snapdragon 855, Qualcomm is pushing for 5G network. So it would be a shame to have Snapdragon 855 without 5G bands (although it must be said that Google and Realme prove that wrong with the Pixel 4/4 XL and X3 SuperZoom respectively).
NotAnOpinion, 28 Oct 2020Wow! A SD 845, but most SD 845 from 2-years ago will stop being supported with Android soon. ... moreHence the term 'planned obsolescence'. The Velvet 4G definitely proves that the chipset is not that important compared to the software version. If you are a spec race junkie, you will care about the Velvet not using the latest chipset. But for most people, 845 is still a relevant chipset. After all, why bother to have a Velvet with the latest Snapdragon 800 series chipset when you already have the V60.
Next year on Flipkart big billion days we'll get velevet for 18k and wing for 30-35k. So guys don't be unhappy. Just wait. Wait is worth.
Is it a dual sim or a sungle sim phone
LG Wing seems to have optimal price. The only problem is LG phones don't hold their value for long. G8x is just an year old but was retailing for one third of its retail price during discount sale. Currently its hovering around half.
As for Velvet, they could have offered a bundle with Wacom Stylus. Its support for the wacom tech was a big draw. It could have been a competitor for Note 9/Note 10 lite instead of G8x.
Where's the global V60, LG?!
NotAnOpinion, 28 Oct 2020Wow! A SD 845, but most SD 845 from 2-years ago will stop being supported with Android soon. ... moreWell i think with New Android there is No need of chipset driver updates to update Android unless there is some security concerns.
AnonD-945200, 28 Oct 2020if lg can bring snapdragon devices to india samsung also can do the same but their greedines... moreYaa i guess. But its some times Exynos struggles but there was time when Exynos was powerful as well at that time snapdragon was bad. So we can't really complain. But again Exynos will come back. I am not a fan of samsung but i remember the snapdragon 810 (or 801 i don't remember correctly) days when samsung Exynos was powerful. And its same like that sometimes there is up and downs i guess they will be back again.
Once again they made a mistake, this time on chipset, LG is giving a VELVET 4G phone nowadays where others r coming with 5G at same price bracket....LG knows very well what to produce ,but I think Lg needs to do work on What to introduce and when to introduce
if lg can bring snapdragon devices to india
samsung also can do the same
but their greediness won't allow them to do that 😐
Wow! A SD 845, but most SD 845 from 2-years ago will stop being supported with Android soon.
But, LG is using the chip in their new 2020 phone but it will have the latest Android update?
Android / Google is scandalous!
GaushikTECH Nerd, 28 Oct 2020The Wing is a tempting deal!!Yeah it seems like the only it's missing is the High refresh rate
The Velvet with SD845 has been launched at $500 here while the more equipped G8x is already on sale for $340. I don't know why anyone would buy this over the G8x which comes with the Dual Screen just like Velvet
I haven't seen an LG smartphone retail outlet in India. LG don't have much market presence.. nor are they competitive. I wonder how its smartphone business is surving in India. I think LG might exit the Indian market because they can't seem to crack it lol.
LG could have used SD855 on Velvet instead of giving out all its SD855 stock on G8x through sale.. Currently, G8x at half of price of Velvet+Dual screen is somewhat back trapped for LG. It won't attract previous gen G7 users (I am one of them) too, as Velvet don't bring changes in SD845 of G7. Mixed move from LG..
LG Wing is priced on par for innovation and extra miles it has. I will be targeted only for low volume and niche customers. I would eye this somewhere in next year..!!
Then, In India the LG G8X @25000 INR is still a killer deal compared to this Velvet
