I am stuck with 32-bit Android 7, 2gb ram, chad 16 gb storage and a laughable SD 210/212. So, I'm gonna have to upgrade just because my phone can't run 64-bit. I've already lost support for many games and apps, but it also could be from Android version along with my 1.09 GHz clock speed. Cell phone is the Alcatel Verso.

I still have a Samsung Note 4, and is working absolutely fine, with a custom Rom of course. And I see no reason to get rid of it, because all apps run just fine. I really do not understand why people keep changing phones every 1-2 year, especially that nowadays phones are powerful enough to run everything. We became marketing victims, that's all. Although the problem with today's smartphones is the fact that sealed battery, I really hope EU will soon interdict that.

Even that I've seen some entry-level phones from two years ago that still run android in 32bit mode, this majorly affects app developers. And not even that much as Google (not sure) and Apple already have a mandatory 64 bit only updates and new submissions.

Literally even a £100 phone from 2020 would be a big upgrade to a £300 one from 2014 in every respect, not just the cpu... Budget phones have come a looong way since then. Plus you'll no longer need to worry about end of support for 32bit as your new cheap phone will have a 64bit cpu inside.

Very slow developments from ARM and Google Android Side.
Everyone wonders why iOS + Apple vertical integration is superior.
Google will still be 32 bit in 2023, yes 32 bit apps can exist if they are released into Appstore before August 2021.
After August they can't.
And ARM will still carry 32 bit back compatibility baggage till 2023.
This is why RISCV is superior, the Architecture is made in such a way that there is no historical baggage aka the burden of Reverse compatibility built in.
So Future Cores can easily support older system, with minimal changes than wholesale BC layer built in
And Lastly X86 is a big mess, it has 32 bit, 16 bit and 8 bit back compatibility built in, thus wasting precious perfomance.
